Probably the same way "Change Da Game (Remix)" wound up on 2002: paid the artist or label for the right to use the track.
-
???
I put this on my i-pod yesterday and was thinking the exact same thing lol.
-
how come they got the dj clue tags on 2002? mad gay
-
Probably for letting jay z make an atrocious remake of me and my girlfriend

Jay was "cool" with Tha Dogg Pound and at that time Kurupt was VP so it was pretty much just a business deal rather than something else that ppl will try 2 blow outta proportion
-
Kurupt wasn't vp when 2002 dropped.
I don't know if its true but I remember reading a story that suge had been dissing jay-z around the time 03 bonnie + clyde came out. So jay agreed to meet with suge to squash their differences. Jay supposedly came up to suge's hotel room with no security and suge respected him for that. After that jay basically gave him a throwaway for his project.
-
Nope. The "Bonnie & Clyde" story is actually true. Suge cleared him on that track and Jay let him use those two songs.

Right, Kurupt was still on Antra. Even he (at that time) was looking forward to the "2002" album release.
-
Yeah he did mention looking forward to the album. After he gave suge that shoutout on daz's album ("yall lucky simon aint home, punks").
I wonder if kurupt and suge are still cool. Suge mustve really looked out for gotti for them to remain cool at that time

Yup, that's exactly what happened. It was actually common knowledge back when the project came out.

They were the first time he left but I'm pretty sure he was pissed behind him leaking the DPG diss tracks.

Only thing is "03 Bonnie and Clyde" was released a year after that Dogg Pound album dropped w/"Change Da Game (Remix), so unless the track was sitting in a vault for a year, this version isn't accurate.
-
Kurupt said it was suge / death row who leaked those tracks it was koch

Suge bought the rights to that track from clue

Hence the Clue tags heard, and hence the cheaper price tag. I thought most would have heard this one the clue mixtape released before 2002

I know, but it was said he bought both tracks at the same time, which would have been impossible since "03 Bonnie and Clyde" came out a year after DR released the album w/Change Da Game
