see what his previous albums did...
not to mention..he dropped it out of nowhere..and then gave it away free.., not sure he cares about the number game...cant flop when u dont care
-
It just proves people are just trolling and don't actually like this guy.
Even Tyler the creators album did like 50 k first week. He's a fad and soon the trolls will move on to something else. When your careers based on gimmicks you have a short shelf life.
-
he gave it away for free on twitter, what did you expect?
-
As if that mattered anyone can get any album for free within two minutes of searching
Now can people stop saying idiotic shit like lil b is the future of the west ::)

no it dont...it was a digital release only....
had it hit stores prolly done a lil better..
lil b has 4 other non mixtape albums that done poorly...

umm yes, I'm pretty sure an artist announcing their album is out randomly with no buildup and including a DL link is going to affect any sales. I'm surprised anyone bought it.
-
Tyler the Creator had XL Recordings hype the album months in advance, Lil B had Lil B hype the album in the morning on twitter and released it on iTunes only in the evening.
-
So what your saying is, lil b has had now five major flops but that doesn't prove anything? Right.
The guy will never push 20k of an album. Ever. This time next year people will have moved on to the next gimmick.
And odd future created thier own buzz had nothing to do with xl. Tyler was going to sell regardless of where he signed.
-
Damn doggy, you're really taking this Lil B issue personal. If people like him, people like him so the fuck what. I doubt many Lil B fans were saying, OMG THE BASED GOD IS GOING TO SELL THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF IM GAY. Fucking Lil B is out there is looking like he's having fun making music and that's cool to see. If he gets a bigger following cool, if he doesn't that's cool too. I'm still enjoying the music he's put out, and that's all that really matters to me.
And still, Tyler had an indie record label financially promote the album. He wasn't going to sell that much without a label in general though. So I don't see how this is a fair comparison.

The fact you care so much about him or how much he sells is a fail for you.

lil b in the game for damn near 6yrs now..goin back to the pack days..n one of their abums did like .2,350 somethin...
.n u cant find the rest of them other cats from group still gettin the type of shows lil b and sellin the shows out
lil b is not goin anywhere..jus like people was cryin bout souljah boy...and d4l...when snap music was blowin up... soulja boy still in people faces..and shawty lo...still gettin deals bread...albums sales dont mean nuthin...
b gave the album away 4 free..and people still bought it...he doin sumthin right u like it or not...
-
C'mon, you can say sales don't mean shit to a degree. We're talking 1,700 records. Chamillionaire used to put his mixtapes (not even albums) out for free on his website, but you could buy the hardcopy from him & he sold more than 1,700 copies lol.
Can't lie, Lil' B surprised me with this album. He's got a good message on songs, he just needs to work on being a rapper. Hard to listen to him too many times with him slurring words & half of his lines don't even rhyme.
& yeah, "future of the West" talks...over lol.
-
difference between chamillionaire and lil b...
and i was around in koopas grindin days....
lil b is sellin out shows...at different venues...places where u think he would get boo'd
not skating rinks with kids... chucky cheese..like chamillionaire..u couldnt find chamillionaire in a club doin a show...
lil b already lasted longer than (http://www.mtv.com/shared/media/images/artist/s/sly_boogie/az_official/281x211.jpg)
and (http://www.mtv.com/shared/media/images/artist/s/sly_boogie/az_official/281x211.jpg)70million times betta than the chef...
lil b has heart and grind in em...he aint sittin around waitin on cosigns from nobody...like a few cats who got mad when ice cube was gettin on the new west...and lil b was grindin then...didnt waste his time cryin over cubes comments...
i remember a time u couldnt come on this site without (http://www.mtv.com/shared/media/images/artist/s/sly_boogie/az_official/281x211.jpg) bein mention..n he was the future...where he at now....i mean really as a fan..i wanna know...

^lol, the only reason I brought up Cham was to show that just because you give it for free, actual fans of yours will buy the hardcopy. More than 1,700.
Lil' B was just somebody people jumped on because it was so bad at first it was funny.

whats even funnier...lil b has yet to drop the hard copy of this album...
-
What's even funnier is people liking lil b. Might as well bump 50 Tyson and Eli porter
-
Hey Jay...off topic, but where did you find his album sales data? I've been looking for Kockturnals knocksville album sales, but can't find that shit anywhere.
-
I found it on a few hip hop sites.
Albums like knocturnals are so low key independent that no sites( or anyone with access to numbers) even knew it came out let alone what it sold. The only people that know the numbers are the people in knocs camp. Lunatic will for sure know but is probably wanting to save himself from being harassed for the poor sales. I'd guess a hundred copies. That spider loc and 40 glocc album sold 81 copies

Here's a quote from a review I think sums up him, the album and one of my complaints against his alleged fan base.
He has an incredibly positive attitude, but is ultimately still a tad boring. He proclaims himself the greatest, but if you don’t like his warbled rap style you’re a hater. Lil B cries his heart out, making an emotional call for understanding, individualism, and gaining acceptance from indie culture with his confessional — sometimes humorless — half written rhymes. Whether I’m Gay will open doors for those who are gay or not, it’s a brave and very calculated PR move. Musically Lil B wants to make something of a Low End Theory meets 808s and Heartbreak, but A Tribe Called Quest and Kanye West served up straight bangers with those releases, which I’m Gay is mostly void of. Maybe it’s supposed to be the “I’m so misunderstood” record: the Elliott Smith of hip hop. With all the fuss surrounding I’m Gay though, this record should have been called “I’m Sad.”
The people I see praising lil b are the same ones saying Joe budden is wack for being emo. Now, I know some people get thier panties in a twist just mentioning budden but I have an actual point here to the comparison . When lil b made his diss track to budden and called him emo blah blah lil b fans loved it because they hate budden, hate people praising budden and hate budden being emo. But then I see these same posters praising lil b.
So you hate budden because he's emo and has a weak flow but you praise lil b?! Who has possibly the worst flow in hip hop and is even more emo then budden?! That doesn't make any fucking sense and makes you look like hypocritical idiots.
Now, I don't give a fuck if someone doesn't like a certain rapper. But when they list idiotic hypocritical reasons for not liking that artist it just makes you an idiot and you lose any credibility you have as a poster. Its like people can't just say I don't like this artist and keep it moving they have to try to come up with stupid shit to justify it. I don't like redman but I'm not going to say a bunch of shit about him to justify it. I can respect him as an artist but I just don't feel his music.
Truth is I don't hate lil b. I hate the hypocritical people praising him. You expect people to take you serious as posters then say dumb shit.
Oh and 3rd coast none of this applies to you.
-
I love how you care more about lil b and follow his career more than his actual fans. You actually searched for his numbers and read reviews about the album.
-
I read one review, as I read pretty much read at least one review of every hip hop album. And the sales was front page news on several hip hop sites. Not exactly hard to find. Never been to any site representing him, don't have one song of his on my hard drive. Try again troll.
And if your saying that's doing more then his fans, then your just further confirming he has no actual fans.
-
Did that spider loc / 40 glocc album really sell 81 copies?
Lunatic: give us the knoc numbers. I'm interested.
-
Why spend so much energy into hating another man actually doing something with his life? Lil B and his fans aren't going away. Like 3rd Coast said, Lil B is selling out shows everywhere he goes. And, I'm pretty sure Lil B had the #5 hip-hop album and was in the top 20 on iTunes the day it was released. Whether that equals 1,700 or not, it's a success in itself when Lil B just dropped the album out of nowhere. The real money is the music biz for artists is performing live (not album sales). Oh, the album is amazing! As far as his "flow" goes, he does a lot of off the top of the head freestyling in his songs. Lil B's got such an unorthodox style that it sounds awkward to people (and we all know hip-hop fans love that conservative same ol, same ol shit). The way I see it, Lil B's got the most unique style since ODB

Could give a fuck about the numbers, but the albums good background music on a sunny day
