Title: Game Acknowledges "Tha Carter IV," But Declares "R.E.D." "Album Of The Year"
Post by: The_Ripper on July 29, 2011, 06:44:02 AM
HipHopDX spoke with Compton, California's Game about his sneak attack leak on Friday afternoon of "Uncle Otis" . While speaking to DX, Game was also asked about a less controversial recent song, "Pot of Gold"  featuring longtime friend and collaborator, Chris Brown. "That record, that's my 'Dreams,' that's my 'Hate It Or Love It,' that's my 'My Life'  for this [R.E.D. album]. It's a good record," explained Game, tracking back through singles on his previous three solo works. "Chris Brown came through and did everything that I thought he would do, and more."

Asked greater detail about his forthcoming fourth solo album, R.E.D., Game declared, "The R.E.D. album, if I can say [it] - pardon Tha Carter IV; [Lil Wayne] is my nigga and I can't wait to hear that, cop it and then check it, but the R.E.D. album is gonna be album of the year." Game respectfully acknowledged his longtime friend and collaborator's upcoming album in his statement. Lil Wayne is even an expected guest on R.E.D., as he also appeared on 2008's LAX. Game continued, "I gotta say it. I've been working on it so long, and I have anybody who's anybody on it - major players that are contributing. Shit's gonna be crazy."

R.E.D. is planned for August 23 release. The album is believed to feature contributions from Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Dr. Dre, Pharrell, Dr. Dre, Lupe Fiasco, Tyler, The Creator and others.

I think that song will be on Warren's album

They said they recorded 2 songs with Nate hooks, one for RED, the other for Nate's EP. Plus Warren is supposed to have produced another song for RED. Hope they made it!

Nate Dogg won't be on R.E.D.

"I'm just made he ain't here to hop on the Red album"

you quoting the tribute song ? Since then Warren G brought him some beats. Warren said in an interview that Game would have one Nate Dogg hook on his album and that Game would feature on the EP. Favor for favor. Plus Warren had a tight beat Game really wanted it so they made one more song for the album. But I'm still waiting for the oficial tracklist.

So Game is declaring album of the year & runner up with two albums that aren't even out?

Too bad Joe Budden said Slaughterhouse is dropping their album by the end of this year. ;D

So from a Hip Hop perspective, opposed to a stan's, you really think Game's album will produce better music than a new Slaughterhouse album? Alright lol.

^So that means his 4th album after a serious drop off due to trying to keep it mainstream, plus running out of things to rap about will be better than four of the better rappers in Hip Hop under better guidence & more time & thought put into their sophmore album?

four of the better rappers in hip hop? None of them have really wowed me with their solo shit. They still haven't shown us they have the chemistry to make a great album. The main problem with Slaughterhouse is that every song sounds like 4 rappers collaborating instead of a group making a song.

They said they are making deeper music. All we can go on for now is their word. But you'd be crazy to think RED will be better than that; just the fact it's Game. I have more faith in "Tha Carter IV".

I get that Game putting out the album of the year is unlikely. But mentioning Slaughterhouse? At least mention someone known for putting out great albums.

Game says he has the best album of the year. Slaughterhouse says they are making deep songs. Same shit to hype up their projects. Neither has a great track record for following through.

So, your first reaction is to call someone a stan when they don't agree with you, lol. Clever.

To answer your question, yes.  Welcome to the Hip-Hop world.  Where every artist says they have created a masterpiece/classic.  You will also hear them say it is album of the year.  This kind of talk is usually referred to as hyping up their own product.

Saying Game has dropped off is an opinion.  Just like me saying Crooked I is only good at doing freestyles, Buddens is a boring mono-tone rapper.  As a group, I don't think SlaughterHouse is that great.  Royce is the only bright star of the group.

You contradict yourself quite a bit.  You say the SlaughterHouse album will be better because they said they're making deep music.  Game says his is album of the year, and that's a foul in your eyes.  It has to go both ways.

game's album might be better than LAX, it's about 50/50. but that's about it. great albums generally come about in an organic way, made within a short space of time and with a cohesive sound. not the 2-3 year marathon delayed, reworked, record label dictated feature-fest that will be the RED album.

So LAX, post-LAX to you is better than The Documentary/D.A. days? I don't think so. That's a fall off.

Game saying his album is going to be album of the year & Slaughterhouse saying they will make deeper music. Nobody said that it would be better because of that. I personally think it will be better because deeper music from them would be better than a bunch of directionless verses like on their first album. That, and all four of them are each 10 times better rappers lol.

Also, Game is talking about how good his album is going to be. Slaughterhouse (or Joe Budden) is just saying how the album will be.

No, I don't think that the post LAX days are better but I also don't think he's fallen off.  I see an artist experimenting with different producers and different types of songs.  Sure he's made some wack songs but he's also made some dope ones.  Every artist has.  And while we are on the subject, I don't think LAX was that bad.  Of the 3, yes it's his worst album but it had some dope cuts.

You implied that the Slaughterhouse project will be better.  Why is that? Because Buddens said they are making deeper music?

^No. Because all four of them are head & shoulders better rappers than Game. Budden saying the music would be deeper implies it'll likely be better than their debut album, which it's main critique was that most of the songs didn't have a purpose & they were basically all freestyling over the same beat.

Let's face it, Game doesn't have too many "Move On"'s.

Me saying their music will be better because it's said the music will be deeper with more meaning makes sense, because individually (& recently), they each prove when spitting deep they are some of the dopest artists. What base does Game have saying his album will be "album of the year"? A few shitty ass mixtapes & a mess of failed singles?

I always was a Huge supporter of the Westcoast. For more then 20 Years 2 be exact.
I have seen the glory days and the downfall.
But Todays shit, I am not feeling it.
What happened 2 rappers who were streetsmart and Intelligent.

They always had like some lyrics and then an punchline 2 underline a specific point.
Todays is like they rap punchline after punchline. It doesnt have the same effect.

And Espacialy retarted rappers like The Game.
The guy is so dumb it pains my ears 2 hear some of his lyrics.

The way he talks, he makes himself bigger then life, while in reality he is an mediocre rapper.
Read my words, HE WILL only embarress himself. His record will not be the best album of the year. Not even near it.
No matter what, some of y'all will keep supporting this dumb ass.

You all probably know someone in your neighborhood, who always acting real tough. But you know it is an act.
When somebody comes and sees such a person for the first time. He thinks he is really that tough.
But you who knows that person for much longer know he is a bitch-ass who is actin tough.
Well that kind of person reminds me of the Game.
You warned him about his tough act will lead him 2 a disaster one day, but he is 2 dumb  2 understand.
Like most likely people surounding the game advising him 2 tone down because he is acting larger then he realy is.

Peace,

Aladin

^Yeah, but "Move On" shows the potiential of what they can do when they aren't just throwing verses together.

& it's hard to take anyone serious when they can't separate those four & Game as a different breed of emmcees.

Not even tryna say those four are untouchable, but Game? C'mon. You might as well say Lil' Wayne is in the same league as Slaughterhouse too lol.

Some rappers can obviously spit cleverer lines than others. But that doesn't say anything about the music. How many rappers could beat Nocando in a battle? Compare that to how many can put out better music than him and there's a big difference.

Im not sayin Games an all time great, or even a great rapper but he makes some music that i enjoy, just like Buddens makes music you enjoy. Royce is a beast but Street Hop and Bar Exam 3 were poor.

Look at this objectively. In the span of his career Game has made a better album than anyone in Slaughterhouse has. The Documentary. Do you dispute that?

Keep in mind that 3 members of Slaughterhouse have been around for longer than Game and have yet to do anything to top Game's best work. I'm not saying its likely Game can make an album of the year, because I doubt he will. But I also doubt Slaughterhouse will. They actually have less of a chance considering their track record and how 3 of their members are in the later half of their career. That says more than any of Budden's assurances about how deep their album will be. I believe that about as much as I believe Game. Meaning I don't.
