i hadn't got much time to look at some news the last time, and now i heard something like that and wanted to know, if shit is real!
-
id hope not...his production would be lost in the mix...i think he should stay on his own and produce his own hits...which he has so far...id like to see him actually get back down with the wake up show collective...thatd fit him better...i think the whole vibe at aftermath aint right for him...
-
That would be cool, but now isn't a good time. He said that Dre was gonna produce for his next album though.
-
Dre's a big big fan, so maybe... but I think Dre's MORE than got his hands full, if he signs anybody else i'm gonna go track him down and lock him in his studio. I'll slide water and cookies (big boys like cookies) under the door for him.
-
Nopeee! Pharoah ain't even in talkz wit Aftermath. But Dre myteee do sum produktion on hiz nexx cd. Peaceee!
-
There was rumours about this last year too..
Dre might do a few cuts for him, but I'd doubt he'd sign..
And for the record:
PHAROAHE MONCH
-
it would be cool
ps. fuckjarule i proped you for hatin ja rule, lol
peace

I think he should stay at Rawkus because there they (artists) can make the record they want to make, but if he signed to Aftermath, Jimmy Iovine would make him chnage it to sell more. And i prefer Pharoahe's ear than Mr Iovine. But i want Dre to give some dope beats to Monch, because that could be a potent cocktail.
-
No he will not .... realisticly its an impossibility.... his album would get pushed back like rakims.... Oh My God...

Let's see.. how long is it since Pharoahe released a solo-album again..??

Truth is I have heard so much about this guy and accept for the Oh No track with Nate on I have heard fuck all of his shit. So signing to a major label with big promotion might do him some good.

Lol, people spelling his name wrong always annoys me as well.
Anyways, signing for Aftermath would be a very bad idea. If he does then I think he will go down the Xzibit route, and I really don't wanna see Pharoahe go down that path. He should stay on Rawkus, cause like someone else said, he actually has control of his music there, and has more space to be creative. With Kweli's album, and the success that the My Life single off of Soundbombing 3 had, I think Rawkus has more than enough behind it to make Pharoahe's next album better selling than his last effort. He is never going to be a platinum artist cause his rhyming is to complexed for the mainstream market, and therefore his best bet is to stay where he is and continue his current success.

u aint heard "got you" aka "fuck you" from the Training Day soundtrack?
or that shit he got sued over (godzilla sample) "simon says".. <=== ya gotta peep that
-
ohh yeah i heard 'simon says' is now banned from sale.. dunno if its true or what.. might be worth snagging a copy while u can coz it might end up a rarity ;)
-
I was gonna say Bez, how can u not have heard Simon Says, that is a classic joint right there. And "Got You" had major playtime in the UK, and the video was almost constantly on MTV Base when it first came out.

Yer sorry my bad I have heard Simon Says, its on the first westwood cd. Its a dope track like but apart from that and Oh No I have heard fuck all of him.
-
I think I'm the only person in the world who hates "Simon Says", I can't stand that beat.

have u ever heard the og of that shit?...i member when i heard Simon Says i was like...the fuck?...godzilla?...i was trippin out cuz he made the beat sound real tight...and i never ever thought of anyone bustin over the godzilla beat...cuz it was so drawn out...but he flipped it nicely IMO...
-
Sad to see that only a chosen few knows about the lyrical genius that is Pharoahe Monch..
Maybe I will have to do a "Pharoahe - The essential tracks"-thread.. but then again only the people that is already familiar with Pharoahe would peep it.. :(
-
Yeah thats the problem Jome, not many peeps on here wanna get into new stuff, and therefore they only look at the threads relating to their favourite artists. The only reason this thread has got more views than your average Pharoahe Monch thread is because it mentions him maybe signing to Aftermath.
-
^^^^didnt i point that out on my thread?
-
I didn't see that thread SGV.
-
my thread about the people who sleep on anything thats not aftermath/dpg related...had this title been Will Pharoahe Monch really sign to rap-a-lot it wouldve got alot less views and replies...thats just the way it goes here... >:(
