Look at the chartrewind of 5 years ago. Everybody sold huge numbers of albums. Puff Daddy 7xplatinum ???, Will Smith 9X ???! :o, Usher 6X, 2 albums of Celine Dion, both diamonds!!
I know it has nothing to do with the westcoast, but the salesnumbers at that time were huge man. Even the most popular artist of this moment, Eminem, doesn't sell that much.

^ word, i still think it's a good thing thou because alot of artists i never heard of n underground rappers n chit that i never would of ever known, i found out about n wit mp3'z u git to peep there music n git old classic shit back that u forgot about or traded away and is out of print... i think's it's a good thin and a bad thing because of all the bootleggin' goin' on...
