No disrespect but how are any of these videos rares? With the exception of the Soul Train performance of Snoop, which i dropped btw.
Cuz all i see is on your/the channel are videos that already are out there on Youtube and such and you just add them to your channel. The Snoop and Dre performance on HBO with Rosie Perez still on Youtube with alot of hits, this one been on Youtube for a while too etc. No disrespect tho but if you can try to find more rare shit. Like i would love to see 2 good videos of Snoop's performances on AMA and Soul Train Awards 1994 in good quality..now that's rare.

I take no offense to an honest, unbiased, opinion whether positive or negative.
First off, the very notion of "rare" varies & differs for each & every individual. I do not claim to have the "definitive" videotheque of West Coast rap, just a decent one, to my own standards. To someone who has more, it will be poor. To someone who has less, it will have some interest.
Second, every video obviously has a source to be gotten from. TV, DVD's, enhanced-CD's, the internet, or someone somewhere with a camera to film at a concert who will share his footage. So yes, every video I have, I got from a previous source. Even a video I might have been the first to put "out there" not because ONLY I would have it, but simply because I was lucky or looked long or hard enough to dig it out.
& I DO RESEARCH to get at least the date & location of the performances. & Try to give at least a little information/ description. (You mention the Rosie Perz video, indeed like many others, I found it on the Tube... if I recall correct, you didn't it was a HBO-owned show? Detail? Yes... Or basic info that was not given.)
I'll give you 1 example of 1 video I know for a fact was NOT available to view neither on the Tube or other like company. SINCE I put it, part of it has been reproduced though (that part being "Friends") & the account I had uploaded it has been suspended. I can give this particular example because I managed to upload it on my Daily Motion page a few hours ago! I had already tried to feature it there in the original .mov format I found it in but it was systematically rejected for "copyrights infringement". With time I found out that sometimes a minimal alteration to a rejected video might allow you to "force" it be featured. Here I re-recorded it in .mp4 format & don't ask me why but it is accepted.
It's the "213 Live @ BET Access Granted, Las Vegas, NV, 08-11-2004" video @ http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xkh7ah_213-live-bet-access-granted-las-vegas-nv-08-11-2004_music/
But several live performances I keep trying to include & CANNOT to this very day. Also some content I know I could include but will SYSTEMATICALLY be deleted & earn oneself a mandatory warning (out of the 3 you are kindly notified before you get fucked over) which makes it "not-to-share" content. Very unfortunately!
& For the record, I DON't DISGRACE CONTENT ADDING MY LOGO OR NAME OR ADDRESS ALL OVER THE VIDEOS like some others do, even though it would tend to show when, who & what content is reproduced from my shit. WHY? Because it ain't about ME! It's about the MUSIC!
Now my point & my objective, is simply to share quality-content for the music I love. Simple. No more, no less. To put it short & sweet, I wouldn't even have started a page had I found someone's page that had EVERYTHING (or let's say AS MUCH OF IT AS POSSIBLE) I wished to watch on 1 SINGLE channel.
& You know what they say, "never best served than by yourself!" (on n'est jamais mieux servi que par soi-même) so I started the page I wanted to see but wasn't there. Or was there but split in 10, 25 or 50 different pages that should have been added & blended into 1.
Result being you can have the best of what's out there in 1 page so you don't have to waste hours every week to go through 100 different pages & web sites LIKE I DO to try & update it every day to make it better all the time. Now I can be wrong but will you show me another FAN-MADE page that can match mine? I seen a few that TRY to fill in the void with the very same concept I put together now that my account on the Tube is suspended & I wish 'em the best, but how can 100 or 200 videos can compare to 900 or 1200? & By the time they come close, they will have their accounts suspended too & see ALL THE TIME & ENERGY they put into it REDUCED TO NOTHING. Because it takes but 3 snitches to fuck you up! & Big name corporations, labels & tvs WILL FUCK YOU UP! Trust me on that! I seen several very good pages from very good folks I liked & found my motivation to do my own thing, simply disappear into oblivion & their valuable content with them! Unfortunately.
Last but not least, should you have other or better content you would feel like sharing, you're welcome, I'll gladly take you in as a contributor or co-editor! No problem. Also note that whenever I can, I DO GIVE DUE CREDIT where credit is due & a direct link/ website address to that "source" or "owner". Which is why I name the producers & directors/ editors, whom I DO ask for permission whenever I have a contact mail-address to reach them out, & afterward give them the link to their video for final approval. Which is a courtesy for the artists I hear is seldomly given them. But this is precisely THAT which allows the no-face fan I am to be notified more & more often when new content becomes available to view/ watch.
Like 1 example is I was the first to contact Fatso Fasano to ask him to feature & promote "The Uncle Junebug Show".
Or is it fair to say a video of Ice Cube, WC & Soul People Rehearsing "Jackin' for Beats" filmed from a front-row table in a club is rare?
The value of this page, if it has any, does NOT come from a handful individual videos per se, its value comes from the total addition of ALL the different videos into an interesting (hopefully) package of music videos added to live performances added to promos & commercials, reports & reviews...
Anyways, I hope it sheds some light & insight on the questions you raised?
