Title: Question for Dubcnn staff
Post by: Triple OG Rapsodie on August 26, 2011, 12:35:23 AM
Why does your front page promote a song most people think is trash (Drug Test)? Shouldn't there be some kind of quality control instead of throwing anything with a big name on your front page?

Not a shot in hell. Will got mad because you talked shit about him. GB gets furiously angry because you talk about his favorite artists.

Lol @ I get mad. I can honestly place my hand on the Bible and swear to God I've NEVER been upset over someone hating on a rapper I listen to.

But I'm gonna leave you alone cham. I forgot last time we got into an argument you ran to the mods and had my post erased

Every time you respond to someone talking about one of your favorite rappers its an emotional response.

Anyway this song has been shitted on by damn near everyone on this forum. You yourself say its disappointing. So why are you getting emo over this thread?

Maybe you should try answering your own question. I too have said its fucked up Game would give his fans this unfinished leftover. That was me stating my opinion.

Crying to the mods that its on the front page...now that's what I would call "emo".

I suggested a way to improve their site. And you posted a fabolous quote about hating why? An emotional response as usual, probably because its a song on Game's album, which had nothing to do with my point but got you worked up.

Nah I didn't get worked up. I really couldn't care less. Its just hilarious that your dislike for Game is so strong that yóu want the mods to remove him from the home page.

Call me emo the day I ever get worked up over what is and isn't posted on the homepage

but you suggestions don't improve the site they hurt the site because you have no fucking clue. this is there site & they have been doing this longer the you . they know what they are doing & you don;t compared to them  . you have no right to tell them to do shit or how to improve anything because you have no clue at all . so just shut your mouth & let them run there site like they want . it not you site , it is there site .

Game is irrelevant to this thread. I would love for them to promote a banging song from R.E.D. such as Ricky or The City. Instead they promote a song most of us view as trash, merely because Dre's name is on it. Not a good look for their credibility, and only a groupie like you would miss the point of my thread entirely.

Why does your front page promote a song most people think is trash (Drug Prescription)? Shouldn't there be some kind of quality control instead of throwing anything with a big name on your front page?
Nobody cares about your opinion, the site is not for you.

And promoting the best new music from the west should be the goal, yes? I don't get how people are disagreeing with this.

I don't see how this can be disputed. A Kendrick Lamar or Jay Rock or even Game song would make the most sense. Instead of hanging on to Detox.

I dont see where anyone is disputing it, more so then just saying the powers that be have decided to put that particular song on their website.

I still don't understand why people aren't saying, "True. You should probably support an artist &/or album that is actually coming out or came out". But no. Everyone is content with & pretty average song that has already been forgetten about.

Notice how this question was directly to the "Dubcnn Staff" & not a single person responded. They can't even defend themselves.

and they need to censor the word nigga cause the only people saying it on here are non blacks

When has Dubcnn ever said the west was dead and they have been covering Kendrick Lamar since he was K. Dot. Nima just did a interview with him and all his new singles from Section 80 were on the front page of the site.

lol you're talking about me sacrificing my life when you've been here for 10 years?

On topic: I think a great idea would be to have "west coast song of the month" or something like that. The whole staff could vote on the best quality song out of all the tracks they've covered, including the lesser known rappers. And then have that song up there for a month.

As far as Dubcnn covering new rappers, they definitely do, I will give them that. However, I was speaking in general how there is no quality control. Someone sends them a song and they post it. I think Nima even made a thread saying something along those lines. Would be great if they were promoting the "music the Dubcnn staff is feeling the most", as opposed to "whoever sends us a track to promote" or "anything with a big name attached, even most people think it sucks."

Would be great if they were promoting the "music the Dubcnn staff is feeling the most", as opposed to "whoever sends us a track to promote" or "anything with a big name attached, even most people think it sucks."
Well, its a site for people checkin for west coast music- so as long as staff may dont feel something, others may find it interesting, so they are posting what they get. Thats pretty good way to run a site for bigger amount of people.

But as it is now they force us to sort through everything they post. There's less incentive for the casual music fans to check it out.

Force? Even with the current setup it's easy enough to pick and choose what you do and don't want to listen to. Again you seem to have some ideas or solutions to the problem if there is one, so email them directly and bring it to their attention.

The real question to dubcnn/dubcc is why don't they post music from upcoming acts!  They need to set up a department for just handling new cats from the west!

and they need to censor the word nigga cause the only people saying it on here are non blacks

My nigga spitting knowledge.

They promote Dre & somehow say with a straight face "The West is dead". They need to be throwing some Kendrick on here.

dubcnn post a LOT of articles promoting upcoming cats, you clearly don't check the site on a regular basis. dubcc on the other hand rarely discuss them.

I don't check the site, ever lol. For all I know, Spice could be lying about it. However, if it really is that Dre song. It shouldn't be. Simple as that.

Then you might want to check out the site then  ;)

Where is it?

Where is what?

The Dre song this thread is about.

16,000 since 2002. Almost 10 years buddy.

lol you're talking about me sacrificing my life when you've been here for 10 years?

I'm saying that a casual music fan isn't going to listen to 50+ songs to find something worth listening to. They don't have the patience. They probably won't even bother with the site (as evident by people here admitting they never check dubcnn). Don't you think it would be a more complete site if they focused on promoting the best from the west rather than anything from the west? I'm just sayin....my favorite blogs are the ones where the owners put up the music they are feeling, not just whatever's out. Maybe you don't agree, but I think its worth discussing at least.

if you don't like dubcnn, then make your own blog.

Why are you so mad? Are opinions not welcome anymore? I like what they're doing and I have suggestions to improve it.

I would not consider dubcnn a blog. It is a full fledged website and gas been for 10+ years. Outside of what hiphopdx does with their hottest singles, a site this big is gonna be impossible to cover everything or a small amount. And just by following this forum, people will still complain about the tracks that are picked for singles. Catch 22. Seriously though if you really serious about suggesting things, email Rud about it.
