My high hopes for the Chiefs this year have all been devastated due to injury. First they lost 1rst Round draft pick wide receiver Baldwin in a locker room brawal with Thomas Jones. Then Todd Haley's renegade stategy (only other coach I remember doing it was Buddy Ryan) of attempting to play his starters for all of game 4 blew up in his face when future star tight end was injured for the season, starting tackle Barry Richardson suffered injury as well, and Matt Cassel and Jamal Charles also got banged up (although they are both likely to play).
The Bills on the other hand have impressed me some. Merriman looks to be a possible candidate for comeback player of the year this year. And I've been impressed by their line play, running back play, and their depth at quarterback and wide receiver. I'm a big fan of Tyler Thigpen and would love to see him end up with the starting spot.
Should make for a great game week 1. Shallow, you ready to make your official prediction? I over-reacted a little when I first heard Moeki went down for the season. I think it will cause the Chiefs to be significantly worse this year; but I just don't know if Buffalo has totally turned the corner yet. I still see the Chiefs as slightly better than the Bills. So I got the Chiefs, and I got them covering the spread.

I don't expect the Bills to win the division or anything like that, but I think they can be in the wildcard race near the end of the season. Although Cinci won the division over the Steelers and Ravens just a couple years back and they came of nowhere, so Buff taking it to a depleted Pats and and a shaky in the season Jets wouldn't be as shocking to me as the Colts beating the Texans with Collins at QB. I expect the Bills to do between 8-8 and 10-6. While I expect the Cheifs to do between 6-10 and 8-8.

Jets. Crown us.

Titans to beat the Jags and it won't be close. Bank for a division/wild card battle

Well mostly i'd pull for Jax over the Titans but not this time after the poor timing of them cutting David Garrard >:( That's so New England like. And they're already a bunch under the cap as is, what if Gabbert & the other dude they have get injured? At least Garrard knows their offense. There's just a lot wrong with the Jaguars team, feel sorry for their fans.

BEcause until just now I hadn't read Manning was out indefinitely I left the Indy game off the ticket, but my 5 games are Bills to beat the spread, Seahawks to beat the spread (and win the game), Titans ton beat the spread and most likely win, Lions to win, and Giants to win.

I like the Lions and Seahawks picks as well. Almost went with those myself.
9 is a lot (Hou-Ind) but Kerry Collins will be a sitting duck

Even worse news today for the Chiefs. 2nd year Pro Bowl safety Eric Berry is out for the season!!!!
So to recap how Chiefs season has gone so far...
-Chiefs lose 1rst Round draft pick wide receiver Baldwin in an injury suffered in a locker room brawl with Thomas Jones. Will miss 1-4 weeks of the regular season!
-Chiefs lose future star Tight End Tony Moeki- OUT FOR THE SEASON, TORN ACL, in last preseason game.
-Pro Bowl safety Eric Berry gets injured early in the first quarter of home opener, OUT FOR THE SEASON, TORN ACL.
-Chiefs suffer worst defeat in regular season home opener history 41-7 to the lowest ranked team in the league.
Great start to the season!!! Bring on the Lions!!!
-
^ Haha. Reading that makes me feel a bit better about the Titans loss yesterday ;D

Was at the Jet game last night. Stadium was so live. Greatest game I've ever gone to in any sport. Incredible.
Start to a Superbowl destined season. 8)
-
I would love to see Cowboys.vs.Jets for the superbowl...Jets are my AFC team but I always gotta ride with my Cowboys... it was a great game and leave it too Romo to fuck up at the end...
Anyways I'm not a big Pats fan but since Peyton is out... Tom Brady is the best QB in the league right now hands down... and tonight proved it
-
517 yards throwing. What a fucking animal. The Jets need to formulate a better pass rush if we're beating him.
& I like the Boys, but I fear Romo will be the death of them. Plus they got injuries on defense. I'm rooting for the Cowboys in the NFC. But the Eagles, Packers & Saints seem too tough for them.
-
not too tough i can see us beating them but it will be a hard games to pick up W's ... i mean we almost beat the Jets and they are a top 5 team in the league... Romo will definitely be the death of us... he's a great QB at times but god damn does he fuckin choke at the end like always... not just that but he also has a low quaterback IQ as compared to Peyton Manning, Vick and Brady... just to name a few
it was also a few bad play calling by Garrett like doing a screen play on 3rd and 25 or doing a running play on 3rd and 20... just made no fuckin sense...
we really needed to beat the Jets that game was very important to us because if we would have that would of shown we are now one of the top teams in the NFL but now that we didnt we are just going to have to prove it by winning alot more games and winning them efficiently

Honestly, I'm not overly concerned yet. The lack of OTA's and an overall off-season was very evident for us through three quarters; a team with an entire new coaching staff (head coach, offensive and defensive coordinators and just about every position coach) and new QB. Not to mention our best play maker Chris Johnson has had virtually one week to learn the new offense. The offense was horrendous through three quarters; it was evident they're still gelling. But they really got it together in the fourth quarter; unfortunately it was too little too late, yet they almost stole the victory in the last minute of the game.
The defense was bullied around on the Jags first drive of the game but they really got it together. The fact that the Jags held the ball for 40 mins of this game (we couldn't move the ball AT ALL on offense) and only scored 16 points is a positive sign.
This team will get better as the season goes on. I foresee a solid 3-5 win streak somewhere in the middle. They should be in the thick of the playoff race 'til the very end.
And I expect to start 0-2 (play the Ravens next week). Still, I won't be overly concerned with 0-2. However, A loss week three to Denver to go 0-3 would really concern the fuck outta me lol.
-
Yeah, Romo tried to throw the ball, off balance, through Revis Island. Just have to be smarter than that.

That was just inept, but whatever. Brady had the worst pick of the week, but Romo picked the worst time to throw his pick.
Ryan Fitz is the QB of the week (well maybe not), and Peyton Manning is thus far the 2011 MVP, and expect him to only show it more and more each week. My dream would be tostart 0-6, have him come back for a 10-6 finish, and then win the SB at home. Not gonna happen, but I can dream.

That's not too serious. But it is cause for concern since they play the Ravens next week. Sometimes good teams run into bad luck at the beginning of the year, and then never recover in time for the playoffs. Like look at the Chargers last year, for example.

The Chargers, last year, were not a better team than the Chiefs, or the Raiders for that matter. This year it will be bbetween them and Oakland. KC is done and Denver isn't ready yet.In general the Chargers are as over rated as their QB is. Marty had them at a bonehead INT away from a Superbowl in 06, but since Norv got there they haven't been all that amazing.

0-2 still won't overly concern me. Nobody is gonna' win more than 10 games in our division. Like I said, 0-3 would be scary. Hopefully we put up a fight vs. the Ravens. CJ is gonna be more involved.

yall wont beat the ravens but if yall do it will be a significant win and show that your offense can hang with a tough defense... i know your a big Titans fan but i dont see them doing too good this year bro
-
just to recap this week
Dallas losing to Jets (if your a Dallas fan) Dallas really needed this game to prove that we are now an elite team but since Tony Romo choked as always we need to get Kim Kardashian as our Quaterback cus she never chokes when she has brown balls in her hands  but on a serious note... we need to get rid of Romo... but overall good victory for the Jets even though our Dallas's D really showed up
Steelers losing to Ravens...
the Raven's have only been getting better every year... and it was good to see the Steelers finally take an L... im so tired of them winning all the time but losing the way they did was very unexpected...
NO vs GB
great game by both great teams... the whole NFC South has decent teams but all took L's the first week
Houston vs Ind
I think even if Peyton did play this game that Houston still could of pulled the W but too bad Colts have old ass Collins who wont do shit all season and leave Peyton in a big mess when he comes back... Colts are out of the question for this year
Philli is definently going to be a top 5 team this year hands down...
the Pats are going to go far this year especially the way Brady is playing and the team they have around them... i mean imagine how hard its going to be to cover a TE that plays like a WR like Hernandez does
Chargers could take the AFC West i still need to see more from Oakland till i claim they can be top of the Division... to say Rivers is over rated is kind of stupid he has always been a decent QB but the AFC West still doesnt have much to offer in that division as of yet besides the Chargers
San Fran is taking NFC West but i'll never underestimate the Cardinals...
last but not least Inifinite your Chiefs arent going anywhere this season and i dont see the Titans going too far either but good luck... its only the first week to be making decisions like that anyways
-
Like Geesta and Shallow said. The Chiefs are done. The newspaper, local media, and fans here in KC are already saying that this season is going to be a wasted year. It just sucks to be in week 2, and already having to look towards next season. But I guess the Colts are going through even worse right now.

I don't think we will either; it would be a MASSIVE win though. I just don't think our offense is "there" yet. Haha it's all good, I think will surprise as the season goes on.. Or maybe I'm just biased haha.. Will see ;D

If I were Scott Pioli I would bend over backwards to try and make a Cassel (and whatever else Indy wants except for JC) for Peyton trade right now. Peyton Manning running an offense with Charles and Bowe and Romeo Crennel running the D would be a superbowl contender for the next 3 years. Fire Haley and make Romeo the interim HC and just leave all offensive duties to Peyton Manning. Or bring in Gruden. A John Gruden Peyton Manning and Romeo Crennel Cheifs will end up with a ring. This year may be a wash but next year would be awesome.
