-
no no no,
doggumentary was the best.......you people have no music sense.......look at what snopp did with that fat white kid and then tell me that snoop isnt on top of the game......
-
Best Kept Secret is the best album so far....number 2 is a tie between Book Of David & The Doggumentary...IMO
-

No, just no.
lol... still cant fuck with "doggystyle" and "doggfather".
Lmao, this came out of nowhere?
-
Soopafly - Best Kept Secret
Evidence - Cats & Dogs
-
no. it is not SAFE to say it was the best west album of 2011. not even.
-
Only thing that had a relivant impact on me this year was E-40, the Snoop shit went by me without a bllink. It sucked.
-
Yet another thread full of people who havent listened to LA Riot
-

and E-40, and Techniec...
-
Below average album imo, I was dissapointed in snoop,Quik and Game's albums.
Coathanga Strangla is by far my favorite album this year
-

Lol did this guy just say if we had a sense of music while saying Snoop's album is the album of the year?
Log off.

Beats On Doggumentary were amazing, but the problem was the Main rapper

just imagine if Snoop went through with the original Ego Trippin idea of no features
-
"doggumentary" sucked. Snoop is horrible as a rapper/performer today
only 2 good songs -- "the way it used to be" and "i dont need no bitch"
-
someone's german to english translator failed miserably.
-
I like snoops album alot but hard to say, i like it better than quiks album, definitely. Lynch's was good but dinner and movie was better.
Dels Golden era is really good! Yukmouths the tonight show is awesome!, the beats are modern soundin but i like how its old school with just one producer. A little too much brag talk/bling/floss(2nd album in a row he done that) but its a great album.
I havent heard Soopaflys yet. I like Kendrick but i have to be in teh right mood, havent heard jay rocks yet.
Aint heard WC either.
-
Doggumentary is an album only Snoop's hardcore fanbase could like...and even then they have to try hard to convince themselves that Wet, Boom and Platinum are good songs.
-
I liked Doggumentary, but no way is it the best west coast album this year. The west coast had a really strong year imo:
1. Jay Rock - Follow me home
2. Kendrick Lamar - Section 80
3. Evidence - Cats & Dogs
4. DJ Quik - Book of David
5. Doggumentary
6. Glasses Malong - Beach Cruiser
7. WC - revenge of the Barracuda
Still haven't given soopafly's album a solid listen yet, but that each one of those albums i listed above is a 3.5/5 or higher
-
I Gotta go with Soopafly's album on this one. Snoop's was ok but meh and Quiks was unique but it lost appeal the more I listened to it which is usually odd. Anyways, those would be my top 3. (Thurz had some cool songs but not enough for best album on the West)

i skip all those songs...
-
I have to go with Kendrick Lamar's #Section80, by FAR in my opinion. I also liked ScHoolboy Q's "Setbacks", Skeme's "Statement", and Ab-Souls' "LTM: 3"
-

I think the thing with Snoop is we have seen this song and dance from him before. For every 1 or 2 ehh or bad albums he drops, he will come back and drop something dope or at least solid. But at this point of his career I think fans and people have turned a deaf ear to that.
-
Nah its not even close to bein the best album.
-
Evidence - Cats & Dogs is by far the best album out of the west this year, then DOM Kennedy & Ab-Soul.
-
I wouldn't say the best album overall but it had some of the best West Coast songs this year
it's up there though, in the top 5 of the year for the West
-
Lil' B's album was better than "Doggumentary" lmao.
-
Both Snoop & Game albums were disappointing for me. But surely no-one really expects a truly great west coast album out of Snoop anymore...and if you do...why?
Snoop has been doing pop music and peddling his name as a culture-hopping one-man comedy set more than he has as a true artist for at least the last 3 years. He's still good for a few songs here and there, to keep us listening and buying, but I certainly wouldn't expect to hear another great LP from him in his career. But I don't need to, the guy has contributed his fair share of classics already. He's a legend just going through the motions and paying for his retirement.

Also, Co$$ dropped the best west coast album this year thus far for me. Co$$, followed by Kendrick Lamar, DJ Quik and Brotha Lynch Hung, all for different reasons. I'm sure Evidence and Blu's will be superb also.
-
damn. i have not heard lynch's album. i was trying to be a lady....but, fuck that. that is my boy. ima check it out. let me go find the title and give it a spin. then, i'll put my dress back on. cause he makes some bangers.

Another great album. I rank Co$$ the second best west coast album this year, behind Thurz. Those two may make my favorite ten of the year. I heard No York. Blu is on some crazy weird experimental shit. Wasn't feeling it at all. Evidence dropped a solid album. I wasn't really feeling Section 80 that much when it dropped, but I'll listen to it again to see if it grew on me.

I agree Blu has gone a lot more experimental yeah, but at his best he's great. He's still not done an album as good as Below The Heavens with Exile, but if he can recapture that then I'll be pleased.
Not heard Thurz' LP, will have to check it out.

Reminds me I still need to pick up Coathanga Strangla..
