Title: Requesting Official Soundscan Numbers On Xzibit
Post by: infinite59 on January 22, 2003, 09:48:26 PM
What is he at now?  I heard he went gold.  So he's probably at 6 hundred thousand something.

I think he's somewhere above "Pathetic", but not quite yet at "Underachiever".

He did well for the low promotion he got...No play from MTV, or BET, and barely any play from Radio...I belive he's pretty close to platinum now...and that's with one single..."Symphony in X Major" just came out as a single, but I haven't seen it on MTV or BET once...and I only heard it on the radio like twice...X is doing good...PeACe

PS...What the hell is an Xzibit topic doing in Outband Connections?

Instead of that wack ass song "Symphony in X Major"...he should've pick that other song with snoop as his second single...he would've sold more...

the first single was good, but losin ur mind or what a mess should've been the 2nd. i dont know how labels chose their singles, and why they chosed "symphony in x major" as the 2nd single but i have a feeling its not gonna help sales at all. id rather watch a street video of what a mess than a high quality video with special effects like symphony

I've convinced myself that either

1. Studio execs pick singles, and don't know what the hell they're doing, or

2. Artists pick the singles that are the most fun for them, like maybe he just really liked that song and it personally meant something or somethin, I dunno.  But SNOOP is the WORST at this.  He always puts out weird singles, like Stacy Adams.

"Stacy Adams" was never a single...Anyways...

I think this is what he soulda done...release "Multiply" as the first single...Then for the second single, "My Name" with Eminem and Nate Dogg...That shit woulda' been huge...and after that, "Choke Me, Spank Me" woulda' been a perfect 3rd single...Shit is catchy as hell...This woulda' helped it go at least double plat...PeACe

Xzibit has sold around 600,000 as of last week...He's also almost out of the top 200 albums...
