Ya no album promotion whatsoever... maybe he just needs to close this chapter for good and be honest with his fans :-\

Haha it's funny how HTC pays him $300M, really mainly to use his name in marketing, and then he goes on to kiss their main competitor Apple's ass in the interview. :D HTC must really feel like that was money well spent.
Tho I guess Dre gets checks for millions from Apple too because of iTunes.

I dont see no ass kissing. Just a fact - that Apple is number one in US. Why would he state diffrent? He works with HTC, thats their cooperation, Im sure he didnt have in contract to lie all arround that HTC is dominating the market.

Interested in seeing what these phones are like, that's a major deal there though!

Nigga talking about a Slim da mobsta record before Detox! He telling the truth he seem like more interested in computers and phones than doing music on a high level.

Detox is not coming. After 3 years give or take with his company ventures, and getting beats electronics up there, and working with mobile/computer companys, we'll have a couple of leaks here and there, and 2 shelved albums.
2012 may see 1/2 "Detox" leaks, but it will all be to promote the sound quality of his speakers.
Now we can all move on. Besides, he's getting too old for this "rapping" thing now. You see the wrinkles on Dre on that picture with Iovine?
I think he knows no one will buy into Detox (mainstream) despite his weight training. What he's doing is exactly what someone of his status should be doing. Steering away from the sole music side of the business and getting into other avenues. Detox is now just a promotional tool, but it'll only last another year or 2 at the most, so I hope these business ventures work out for him, which I think they will

maybe it’s a relapse, maybe I’m high right now, where the weeeeeeed at?
slim da mobster is not coming out in a million years, just mixtapes like bishop

i dont care how he looks, maybe some of you do.
its just that the musical direction didn't seem right.
besides, his albums are usually filled with features.
anyway, how is detox a promotional tool? BEATS by dre was doing fine, before there even were 'detox' headphones
-
Theres "detox" headphones?
I can see slimm having more chance of dropping than bishop, his gangster image is what dre is used to developing and Jimmy is used to marketing

Under pressure leaked when they were heavily promoting the beats by dre brand, and they even used the under pressure beat for a laptop ad with Dre on it. Around the time, detox was coming more than any other time it's been talked about in the past. I believe it's more of a promotional tool than an actual product. As a producer, he'll always be making music, it doesn't always mean that it'll always mean that "Detox" tracks are being made
-
lol that the detox headphones are actually out but the album is still nowhere in sight. someone obviously thought it'd be coming by now when they rolled out that product
dre don't rush for nobody, even promotional items for his own album. but on the real the headphones are making big money, they will milk it as much as possible as the brand is expanding, jimmy won't be in such a rush for the music either. he probably doesn't even care, dre might just be able to delay it another year or two or cancel it if he likes.
-
I think detox was supposed to promote/launch the "beats by dre" brand. But the headphones have so much success that it turned out the other way. Beats by dre are now promoting the album.
Dre's changing the music world again, but not with music this time; by bringing sound quality to the masses.

by selling overpriced headphones? i guess more people are getting nice sounds out of their music through the brand, but only cause they don't know about better value options in audio equipment. i guess they use the fact the they are 'fashion' items too to justify the price, but it seems pretty vain. record labels are really loosing a grip over the art itself with this type of thing being emphasised over the actual music, which seems to get worse and worse. not that it isn't good business - people will buy anything with slick marketing and a degree of quality, it's just shallow.

yeah, it was posted on here, shouldnt be hard to find
you're right about the image, but im not sure if imitating 50 cent on songs is going to benefit him.

fair enough.
but under pressure didnt get such a great response, so i thought dre just used that beat for the commercial and treat under pressure as a leftover.
i mean if the feedback was better, the song would have been on itunes.

Yo fellas lemme ask y'all a question..
How many in here ACTUALLY believes that Detox will come out one day? And how many don't?
I told myself to stop checking for Detox by the end of 2007 after i started checking for it around late 2004/early 2005 and i don't really care right now. Now i do check random news about it from time to time but
i'm at a point where i could care less if it comes out or not. Will i listen to it if it comes out? Yep. Do i care if it doesn't come out? Nope.
-
Just want to remind y'all that we're coming up on the 10th anniversary of Detox being a myth. Got big plans to celebrate. Stay tuned...

Got to agree with this. Kind of like Lady Gaga's photographic shades, and all these other items. I have a pair of £80 Sony headphones that work fine. I don't beats by dre. Like the Iphone/Ipad. It's all fashion items, when there are other items on the market just as good for less than half the price

The fact that ipods and beats by dre are overpriced is not just to make more money on each product sold, It's also part of the marketing strategy. People believe it's the best product because its the most expensive. Which is kinda logic for the average consumer who doesnt know much about the other products available.
