Does anyone else think this too?
I really don't see what the big deal is about him.
It's like Aftermath decided to try to make a hero out of an average or slightly above average artist.
Plus he sounds like 50 Cent but doesn't have any hit songs that come close to 50's first album.
-
yeh hes a forgettable artist.. doesnt suck.. just sounds like everyone else..

Man what are you talking about, he doesnt even have a debut album & you expect to have a hit songs like 50. Be patient man, Slim's the next big thing, Dre knows what he's doing

you re trippin ! Slim is hard and original . personnaly i cant stand 50 cent with his monotone flow, delivery and espicially when 50 try to sing on his tracks
(hot garbage)
having the same voice dont mean shit ,
-
slim is fucking dope.

If that post was trollish - then i agree.
-
He's nothin' special, but hopefully "War Music" will be dope. It's amazing that people compare him to 50 Cent.
-
he looks like a cracked out 50 cent
this dude going no where hes just another clone
-
I dont care to much for him but he does have some nice cuts. I rather have bishop lamont over slim tho
-
he doesnt really suck, but not like he's talented or anythin either
-
I pretty much think he sucks. I've only liked one or two tracks from him. Wish they stuck with Hayes, Bishop Lamont, & Stat Quo instead.
-
Yeah I guess saying he sucks is a bit extreme. But he has average written all over the songs I've heard so far. The fact that Dre and Snoop are pushing this out surprises me. Because of it, the project has a high quality, but musically it's just nothing groundbreaking.
I have to agree that I think he will be mostly forgotten in a year or so. I will check out the album when it's released and we'll see, but I am pretty certain I won't be playing it in a month or two.
-
Marginal talent. And , Dre DOES NOT know what he is doing. Look how many people he fucked over on his label.
-
he doesn't suck but most of the shit i've heard from him was nothing to get excited about. dope beats is whats carrying this nigga. he has a legend like dre behind him so naturally white boys will suck his dick. but the reality of the situation is even lil niggaz like dubb can rap circles around this nigga. out of all the artist dre has signed in the past he's up there as one of the worst. mostly hype, limited skills.
-
heīs nothing special . not bad, not too good.
-
hes evolvin tho,
that "Marta"-song wit Prodigy had alotta replay-value
-
I cannot stand him, he's the worst rapper I've heard since Iil B IMO, no one I know can stand him. Lyrically he's real basic, he voice is really uninteresting and he's completely monotone. If I don't like someone's music I just don't listen to it, but as he's going to be rapping on Dre beats I'm not going to be able ignore him.
-
Not that Dre made any of the beats he'll be rapping on.. lol
-
he doesnt really suck, but not like he's talented or anythin either
-
Kendrick Lamar >>> Slim the Mobster
-
he's a waste of time, and im not "hating" but he's not a major recording artist, so dont expect a release for him on aftermath
-
huh? I thought his album WAS coming out on aftermath

Man it's alot of Dre bill Walton's in this muthafucca, slim ight, and Dre doing the right thang with this, doing a solid for chocolate, I respect that. But what the fucc is a Dre beat these days? And even his bill Walton's on here be saying Dre needs to work with this and that producer. Lol lame that muthafucca can't do it himself, piano lessons in all smh at y'all hero. Big up slim and Kendrick tho Yell

what's wrong with piano lessons?
-
slim the mobster>>>>Kendrick
-
he's your generic Aftermath gangsta rap rapper backed up by dope beats ... both 50 and Game were better though and he won't release an album
-
when pigs fly.
I saw a ghetto bird...
-
He's decent. Any extreme opinion for or against Slim The Mobster seems almost impossible.

exactly
if you like gangsta rap in 2011 then Slim is for you, if not then bump Kendrick Lamar or Bishop's old mixtapes
-

-

hahaha no. bitch

west west yall
-
So when's his album out
-
slim the mobster is wack. guy has no charisma and his flow is below average. his lyrics are wack! you could tell how dumb this guy is in his first video interview that he did with dubcnn. bishop lamont shits all over this guy.

Eastwood

dre co-signed bishop lamont. its just that they wanted to release his album after detox, quite lame.

slim ain't even on the level of dubb, so all the rappers you named are yards ahead of him. im not sure he's even better than cashis or mitchy slick for that matter. if dre never sign this nigga none of these dick riding fags on here would even use this niggas mixtape to break up weed on. he on the same level of compton menace.
-
Well just got the mixtape downloaded and it's pretty bad.
Dreaming (2/5)
What Goes Up (1/5)
Fuck you (3/5)
Falling Star (2/5)
Back Against the Wall (2/5)
Martyr (1/5)
South Central Blues (1/5)
Whose House (1/5)
See It (4/5)
Gun Play (1/5)
Take it Easy (5/5)
The best track by far was Take it Easy, but we only get a 1:37 short version of the song!
deleting all tracks except three of them.

tbh Bishop should've stayed. He's shown no signs of releasing an official album and if he were still on the Math he'd be doing what he's doing now (releasing mixtapes). Except with more people paying attention. I don't really see what was the point of leaving if his album is still eternally delayed. I guess at least he left on his own terms rather than waiting for Dre to fire him.

i doubt he would have gotten more attention if he stayed there.
you're right that the album is still not out, but that's for different reasons than before.

You don't think being on Aftermath boosted the amount of people paying attention and the amount of news we hear about him?

initially yes. but when he was signed there were also moments when it was quiet around him. he released the street albums/mixtapes to please us.
i really doubt his free songs and mixtapes would have gotten a lot more attention this year and last year if he was signed to aftermath
-
just answer the question..........yes ,
-
Thank you. lol

Slim the Mobster is different, he really reminds me of 50 cent to be thoroughly honest. He's a little too hood for mainstream, but he appeals to the people in the hood. Hopefuly, people in the hood, buy records!
