Anyone know why Warren G stopped working with all his old artist, The Twinz, Dove Shack, Mr. Malik & Da 5 Footaz? If he had of kept them all together his G-Funk Records could of been a force. They probably didn't sell many records by why did he stop working with them?
Da 5 Footaz - Lost Scrolls is some classic G-funk.

life goes on. a person u knew yesterday, might not be around in ur circle the next

I don't know know about the rest but i think they kinda covered the 5 Footaz thing on "The Show" didn't they? Just seemed like the business shit got in the middle of it and if you watch "The Show".

well, Mr Malik is presumed dead (im not even lying). nobody kows where he is, not even Mally G
Tha Twinz shows up every now n then on various Snoop-songs, just like ½ Dead
n Bo Roc is doin his solo-thing, C-Knight recently made a comeback

Last I heard Mr. Maliki was in Atlanta but no one had heard from him which is a shame cause he had some nice features. I thought them all being from the LBC they would of all ran in the same circles and shit?
Jah Skillz was a beast on the mic.

Mr Malik is from New York i think. thats an artist that Treach (Naughty by Nature) found
-
malik was from SC.........
whatever happened 2 frank lee white...i remember warren g was promoting him. wasnt bad for a white boy.
-
Mr. Malik was in the group Illegal with Lil Jamal that Erick Sermon put out.
-
yeah, but Treach found Malik n put him alongside Jamal (an artist that Lisa LEft Eye Lopes found).. they later signed to Rowdy Records as a duo
-
So what were the reason he stopped working with The Twinz & Dove shack? I heard The Twinz weren't really interested in the music industry that much or some shit.
-
If i remember correctly, in an interview Warren-G said something along the lines of the Dove shack werent even in his circle it was just a record label thing. I think def jam(or what ever label) they were on asked Warren to include the dove shack as part of the g funk family. he definitely said something like that. If memory serves.

I've heard Mr. Malik (Hershey Loc) came out of the closet, and no I'm not joking, some years back and there was mixed reactions from within his circle so he somewhat kept his distance. But I've also heard most of Tha Pound was cool with it. This might explain why he disappeared, but I never heard the death rumors.
Twinz were rapping even shortly after their debut on Warren's "Take a Look Over Your Shoulder" album and Snoop's first Eastsidaz project, I always assumed they were still rapping.
What I think happened was Warren lost his label deal at Def Jam, essentially disappeared from the industry for a few years, and the rest of his label/crew couldn't get major deals.
I highly doubt they didn't know Dove Shack and Def Jam pushed their signing - Long Beach, particularly the Eastside, is not a big community at all and more or less everyone knows eachother. Plus I'm pretty sure they all went to the same high school. I'm almost positive Snoop, Nate, Daz, Warren etc knew Dove Shack and Twinz growing up.

That's why I thought they would of kept working together more.
That's the first time I've heard the gay rumours about Mr. Maliki

thats like asking, y don't u still hang out with ur friends in middle school or elementary school.
its just life, when they make new projects they might of been busy, asking for too much $$ or didn't fit the albums style or what not or they might not be on good terms.
-
I think Warren couldn't get the leverage to push his artists the way he wanted when his momentum fell after I Want It All and The Return of The regulator. Plus The Twinz aren't famous for their work ethic so it didn't really help. The Dove Shack were never really Warren's artists, he only produced one song for them, I think that like most of the LBC acts, they came up under Big C Style (who had negotiated a deal for Bo Roc with Noo Trybe I think but he got scrapped cause Bo Roc went to jail immediately after) and amid the Westcoast craze where major labels were signing all kinds of westcoast rappers they ended up on Def Jam who had snatched Warren who was originally supposed to sign on John Singleton's record label (who never really took off).

Great point......I was in JR High and High School when Deathrow was blowing up and I've only kept in touch with one person from back then. People just move on for better or worse. That's life.
