40 Water is upping the ante and dropping three albums at the top of next year.
E-40's been averaging two albums a year with his Revenue Retrievin' series, and it looks like he's not planning on stopping. XXL broke the news today that the Bay Area veteran is planning on releasing three full length LPs next year titled The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil. 40 Water broke down the release schedule for the trio of LPs, saying that all three will drop the same day on February 28, with a special edition three pack following later.
“I putting out The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil 1, The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil 2 and The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil 3,” he explained. “They’re all coming out the same day [February 28]. You gonna see them in stores all sitting side by side. And they’re on iTunes...we’re also gonna have a special edition where you can get all three in one bundle. A three-pack for a nice price. But if you only have enough gudda for one, get one. Then come back in a couple of weeks when you get your check and get another one. I’m milking the system. I have my own label, ain’t no liaison, no middle man. I have my own distribution. I’m not signed as no artist. I got a P&D deal which is a lovely situation.”
The Ambassador of the Bay also explained why he's been releasing so many albums at the same time over the past two years. He explained that while many artists choose to pour their time and effort into mixtapes, he'd prefer go for broke and drop multiple official projects.
"Rappin’ is my passion,” he added. “Then there’s gonna always be people who wanna hear me. It’s like chitterlings, a lot of people don’t like chittterlings, but a lot of people love em. I’m an acquired taste. Some folks putting out three, four or five mixtapes a year. This is no dis to mixtapes. I like mixtapes. But you have some people putting out mixtapes when it really is their album, but [calling it a mixtape] is just a security blanket in case the project don’t perform well. Like ‘Oh, that’s just my mixtape.’ With me, I’m putting out albums. Ain't no need of beating around the focal point. With me, when you spit the shit people wanna hear, it’s gonna spread like the flu and become contagious like a yawn.”
The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil series is set to feature Brotha Lynch Hung, YG, T-Pain, Raheem DeVaughn, 2 Chainz, Snoop Dogg, Nipsey Hussle and the Hieroglyphics
And he ain't mentioned the history channel!!!!

Those features have defiantly got me interested!

well, three full-length records in one year is a lot of stuff, he must have been working like a motherfucker. Let's hope he didn't get lazy with his lyrics. And as long as Droop-E is handling the major part of the albums I'm down with it. But seriously, three may be one overmuch. I'd rather have the histroy channel.

3 wack albums?
If Lil Wayne has shown us anything, it's that quantity doesn't always equal quality

Make it a day :P
E-40 always has some bangers, so I'll absolutely check for these albums! :)

the Revenue Retrievin' series were full of fillers, especially the first two installments, i guess it can only be worse with 3 20 track albums. gotta respect his work ethic and grind though.
he's not the first artist to do that though (not even the first vallejo artist for that matter lol), J-Diggs did it in '09 with his 3 albums The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. those had only 10-12 tracks though.
-
he was on point about artists calling their albums "street albums" and "mixtapes" in case they fail. then they go and release it in stores later when it succeeds. he should do like they used to and release one quality album though not this modern day quantity over quality bullshit.

I'm with you on this. I love 40, but I'd much rather have 10-12 good songs, than 30 so so ones with three good songs per album.

i was a fan in 1998 ha ha , but his last albums arent that good .

bullshit, the first two installments of revenue retrievin were banging hard in the trunk. he is still the funniest and most unique rapper from the west coast. also the 3rd and 4th rev. retrievin werent bad at all, although not as good as day shift n night shift.

great news, E-40 is the truth.
