StreetHop: How have you been lately?
Crooked I: Man, everything is good man. Just working. Cant complain.
StreetHop: You got a remix of 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted with 2pac on the Dysfunktional Family soundtrack, what can you tell us about the track?
Crooked I: We went in there and flipped 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted. Its a classic song you know what I'm sayin' we made a ridiculous beat man and I just got on there and basically replaced the cat that was on there. We just had fun with it and the song came out hot. We're gonna white label it probably and service it to dj's so we can make it a club banger.
StreetHop: Your song "Still Tha Row" will be the first single from Dysfunktional Family soundtrack, what can you tell us about that song and what's it about?
Crooked I: Still Tha Row" is basically a statement song. I just wanted to do it cause its been awhile since you've seen Death Row on the screen visually in a video or anything. We wanted to make a statement first that u know its still tha row, and no matter what goes down, no matter how the media attacks us or the police attack us, we're still here doing our thing. That's what still tha row is about. We're gonna do a video for it and everything, a mini
movie type thing.
StreetHop: What are your feelings on Suge getting locked back up again?
Crooked I: Oh man, you know that sucks, Their basically fucking with him in my opinion. They wanna violate him for giving jobs to people that normally wouldn't have a chance to get a job. They say don't hire people with felonies, but he's the type of cat that will hire a ghetto cat you know what I'm saying, they probably wont get another opportunity to work so actually he's doing the system a service by hiring these cats so they don't have to go mask up and rob something or lay something down. So they violated him on that, I mean they just fucking with him man. They hate to see a young black dude having paper and running a successful business.
StreetHop: Despite Suge being locked up is everyone at Tha Row staying positive?
Crooked I: Yeah man, we're staying positive, we know he'll be back soon. Our mind is mainly on the party we're gonna throw when he touches back down. We're all staying positive though and staying aggressive on the microphone man and staying steady representing. There's up and downs and valleys and peaks, we know what's crackin.
StreetHop: Do you have any words for Daz and the other guys that dissed you on Tha Row Killa song?
Crooked I: Yeah, I heard the song Death Row Killa for the first time last night there's a couple dudes on there that I aint really familiar with and obviously I'm not familiar with them for good reason cause they sound pretty shitty but yeah you know their trying to do their little thing, their just little dudes man. We got so many things on our plate right now and things we're planning for the West Coast that we aint even trippin'. We got something addressing all the suckas on my album. So go get the album "Say Hi To The Bad Guy" cause we're gona have something addressing all them suckas, any sucka you can think of we step to them.
StreetHop: Snoop referred to you and everyone on Tha Row as crumbs off his table, do you have any words for Snoop?
Crooked I: I got a song called "The Slap Back" on the album and I'm sure it'll be for all yalls listening pleasure [laughs]. We just had a little fun man cause basically to me that whole thing is a joke to me so we just had a little fun you know you wanna slap at us we'll slap you back real quick and get back to this business of making good west coast music cause that's the main objective.
StreetHop: With Suge being locked up again is Kurupt running things right now?
Crooked I: Yeah he's definitely making some executive decisions along side of other people that are already in position. But Kurupts definitely making some executive decisions right now.
StreetHop: What type of impact has Kurupt had since his return to Tha Row?
Crooked I: Its all good man, he's a seasoned veteran and its always good to have a seasoned veterans presents in the studio when you gettin down. And he's been there man, hands on, every night up in there. We just put our heads together and bang it out.
StreetHop: Tell us a little about shooting the video for "Baby" with Ashanti.
Crooked I: Oh it was all good man, I went up in there and even though they cut out some of the parts cause I was up on her man, you aint gonna get in a video with Ashanti and try to get up on her a little bit [laughs] its all good though, the video came out tight considering we just did it. It got a little run on 106 and Park so we're definitely happy with the outcome of that.
StreetHop: What are you thoughts on people bootlegging artists material?
Crooked I: That type of thing happens man, you get bootlegged sometimes, it comes with the game. Id rather be bootlegged than not be bootlegged cause the cats that's not being bootlegged that means people really aint trying to hear from them. I know its a sales thing and all but I'm in this for the love.
StreetHop: There were rumors about artists like Juvenile and Jayo Felony being signed to Tha Row, can you tell us what happened with that?
Crooked I: I don't know, I know Juvi got down on the soundtrack and a couple of things with me too but I'm not too sure man. That's the business end of everything. I handle my business and keep my nose out of other peoples. I just do me basically but it would have been nice. I got allot of respect for both those cats as far as lyrically.
StreetHop: People label Ja Rule as a 2pac biter allot. Since you've
worked with him what do you think about him getting that label?
Crooked I: I think all the 2pac fans need to think of it like this.. allot of people think 2pac is the best that ever did it. And if your gonna be the best that ever did something then your gonna influence allot of people. So just be happy that he influenced all these people and you gotta realize people are greatly influenced by this cat cause he's the man, I mean look at the industry. You can see a little bit of Pac in allot of people, but that comes with the territory when your one of the greats.
StreetHop: How has it been working with Murder Inc?
Crooked I: Oh man we do are thing. We go in there and we knock things out man. What's up to IG, Irv Gotti. Its all good man, that's the extended family man, we just go in there and knock shit out and have fun. We do it like we're suppose to ya know?
StreetHop: Some of Tha Row fans don't think you guys should be
working with Murder Inc., what do you think about that?
Crooked I: Well you know your not gonna please everybody. I'm a firm believer in independent labels banning together and getting this paper cause for years its been the opposite. You've had cats getting paper off us so now that we got this business were we can get this money I think we should get this money. I don't think we should discriminate on who we work with as long as their real and they can do it.
StreetHop: If you could get one hater in a room alone for 5 minutes who would it be and what would you do?
Crooked I: I probably will get a hater in a room alone for 5 minutes so you know I'm not gonna answer that one cause that's highly possible [laughs]. Everything we say and do makes the news so I'm gonna be careful about what I say [laughs].
StreetHop: For those that don't know, who all is on Tha Row right now?
Crooked I: Ok, we got Eastwood, of course Danny Boy, Kurupt Young Gotti, we got Gail Gotti, we got Virginya Slimm, Bigfoot, Spider, and on the production side we got Jim Gettum, Darren Vegas and Monster O, and you got me.. bad guy number one.
StreetHop: Any thoughts on the hype around 50 Cent and or the
beef between him and Ja Rule?
Crooked I: I don't even know man, I'm not really too informed on
that beef I aint even knowing what's going with that. But I see there's allot of beefs out here so I'm just waiting to jump in mine. Also there's allot of hype on everything right now. There's allot of cats out there that don't deserve the hype and there's also allot of cats that do deserve the hype. But we'll see, we'll see in time.
StreetHop: Any thought on Daz and the lawsuit he has with Death Row?
Crooked I: well Daz got a lawsuit on Tha Row but we're about to
slap one on him for trying to put my album out. He's trying to put out some underground shit I did years ago so we're about to put the counter-suit right on him. But when your out there making your money your not worried too much about other man trying to get it for free, ya know go out there a do you and get that paper with hard work and good music instead of out there stepping around like that but whatever.... dudes just gonna expose himself and show their real faces one day and we're just gonna kick back on the yacht and laugh about the shit.
StreetHop: There's this forum online which has allot of users that like to hate on Tha Row and just recently they all been claiming your not happy with Tha Row, anything you wanna say to them?
Crooked I: Oh is that right? I never knew that, well look man, how could I not be happy. I got the first single coming off the soundtrack. I'm the first artist coming out since he's been released. I don't understand... I got a lovely deal, I own my publishing, I don't know what's crackin with all that talk, but no that's not true at all. I'm over here doing my thug thang and I'm loving it cause there's a big difference, trust me I've been in the game for a minute, and there's a big difference cause being on Tha Row... you get things done. Its all love over here.
Lol damn... no, he didnt diss us
-
damn, he got us good, didn't he? ::) to whomever that started THAT rumor

Well, at least Toostreettobegangsta.com tried their best to make Crooked diss WCC...
-
Gail Gotti on Tha Row, interesting considering she was just on Daz's last EP.
-
Does StreetHop have beef with WCC? Why?
At least Crooked I is smart enough not to alienate a whole bunch of potential fans...
-
Man, that 2 of Amerikka's Most Wanted must have been JaRule influenced, you know jack a beat and rap over somebody elses song. Straight Wack.
if he dissed Snoop on "The Slap Back" or whatever though, he's gonna kill him. Snoop better be writing good that afternoon, lol because Crooked can come a lot harder than Pimpp'd Slapped

LOl Agree 100% but ive never heard Crooked I diss so maybe hes not THAT good of a disser, but he IS a good lyricist, but we will see how it sounds, Snoop's experience vs Crooked's talent
-
Crook'll kill him, but then, Snoop will come back and just clown Crook on being a nobody.
-

ive never heard crook diss...but when he clowns on just general emcees in his raps its hilarious...like on his verse for Anthem 7...he graphically painted how he and the whole Wake Up Show crew were beatin down fake rappers...lmao i was rollin...hed tear up snoop without a problem...snoop can diss hard..well he used to diss hard...but nothin like a great lyricist can do...
-
maybe off topic but Whats up with this Jayo thing Jome??? ;D
-
I hope this beef wakes Doggy Dogg up, because he will need it.. For the moment, I cant really say who will humiliate who but im sure Crook knows enough about Snoop to diss him, and Snoop already has a lot to clown about him (album not comin out, Tha Row, Suge losin lawsuit if its true, etc...) Dammnnn I cant wait to hear the new disses, im sure these 2 can bring us somethin can bring us some fucked up disses

really only thing snoop can clown on is that Crooked is workin with Murda Inc and Sisqo...i doubt snoop will mention murda inc tho...other thing snoop can bring up is that hes multi platinum and crooked hasnt even put out a record...but when it comes down to it...he cant clown on Crookeds skills...cuz Crooked actually has good rhymes with a diverse vocab...not just izzles, dizzles n shizzles...
-
They both could clown each other on countless things. Snoop's 100 degrees above Crooked as far as success, he's got a car named after him, he's got his own t.v. show, he's a guest host on one this week, he's got his own movie company, he had porn's best video of the year last year, he's got several multi plat albums under his belt, he's got mansions, he's got sold out tours, he started the company crook's on, he's got a family, Snoop could clown crook on 100 things, but crook could probably clown Snoop on a ton of things too, so we'll see how it goes.
-
maybe off topic but Whats up with this Jayo thing Jome??? ;D
;D
I'm on a underground underrated rappers roll..
People who is mad underrated, and has been in the game for a while, and doesn't get their proper respect from the new youngguns or youngplayguns in some cases.
I started off with M.O.P., then moved on to Kool G Rap, and now Jayo..
All of these is veterans, that should be selling millions instead of K's.. ;D
-
I think Crooked I dissing Snoop could easily blow up in Crook's face.
Good point Trauma in saying that Snoop basically started the label that Crook is making albums for.
-
didn't see this, sorry for making another thread lol
I think Crooked laughing about Snoop's and Daz' disses is pretty silly considering that it's Tha Row, not Doggystyle and DPG Records that's hardly doing shit but dissing

I need help..... I have a friend who believes it's ok to say the "Hail Mary" as a prayer. I have tried to explain we are to only pray to Jesus/God the Father, not Mary. This friend says he is a Born Again Christian because he goes to a non-denomination church once in awhile, but his Catholic background is still very strong! When I tried to explain why we are not to pray to anyone else but God.......He says, don't push your beliefs on me!!! He won't even talk about it or let me show him in the Bible what it says. He believes he is saved, but I wonder since his attitude is so unbending on this and some other issues if he really is? He believes all the "Mary" sightings are real and from God. Do any of you have information on this subject I could send him on the email?
I think he might read something sent to him on the email, even if he won't listen to what I say on this matter. Thanks in advance to any of you that can shed some light on this....
-
ROFL ;D
-
Did someone diss 'Us' or a select few? I think it's easy to say the average american cannot stir up the greatest brew of Tea. Now if I were to say that, those Americans who are Tea Tottlers will not take offence.
Did you take offence? Maybe its aimed at you.
-
I understand. An apple tree cannot be blamed for those apples that fall and sour early likewise the church cannot be blamed for the actions of its flock. Nor should the location of the church be used as a resprentation of the flocks faith for many are devout and generous people.

originally it said this

am7 tha row admin + friend of the interviewer posted this on tharow forum
I was on the phone while those guys did the interview and they didnt mean the question how you guys are taking it. I think they were refering to this one westcoast forum that has alot of kids from ALL over the world that was trying to say they knew inside info that Crooked wasnt happy on Tha Row and should leave. I dont think it was a diss to strickly Europeans or anyone in particular. I think was more directed to the Snoop fans that were on that forum they are refering to.
most people believe the the post was "crooked i must be one frustated fucker"
