yo i gotta avi file thats about 267 megs and like its like 98 minutes or sumthang, n like i need to copy it on cd, but its too big to put on one cd so like i need to cut the file in half or sumthing.........anyone know how this can be done?

297megs should fit on a cd no problems - they start @ 650meg ...
If you mean its a divx and when converted to vcd format it no longer fits ?
Then you need a splitter - tmpegenc should do the job for you - get it here : http://www.tmpgenc.net/
If that isn't what you meant then holla back with more details and I'll see if I can help.
btw www.vcdhelp.com is very usefull for tools for this kind of thing :)

Forgot to say when splitting - you should be able to get 60mins at least in vcd res onto a disc, I think tmpeg actually offers crop a file to fit on discs in it's wizards... if it doesn't then you can do it with the mpeg tools in the menu.

yo thanx homie, the file is 297 megs but like its about 97 minutes long is the problem im guessin and also when i put it onto like vcd....like add the file......................the size jus suddenly goes a whole lot bigger! any more ideas?...........oh n i'll giv that thing you was talkin about a try, thanx

sounds like its in divx and needs converting and then splitting ... try virtualdub to convert it.
also which cd writing app were u using ?
