Have to say these guys dont get enough love, their first3-4 albums were just great examples of classic west coast hip hop. I also respected the fact you never heard these cats indulging in any beef with other artists on wax or in the media.
Both havokk and prodeje seemed liked they were real street dudes and not just portraying that image
Any fans of the Cartel in here?
-
yeah N Gatz We TRust has a few bangers on it
Havikk has several songs on Assassin's compilations in the late 90s and ALWAYS was dope on them

SCC Had Beef Wit OG Sinister B.I.P

that DJ AK and Big Prod collab has some dope tracks on it as well

Sinister - Mobbin' 4 Life (1994)
Lyrics: 3.0
Beats: 3.25
When you live by the gun, you die by the gun. Sinister is one of the many gangsta rappers that fell victim to street violence. But hey what can you expect when you do all this shit talking, someone is bound to bust a cap in your ass. While Sinister only passed away last year, his rap career died way before that. The major labels were running left and right to sign new gangsta talent from the west coast and that's where Sinister comes in with a one album deal. The album failed to make an impact and he got dropped with a quickness and nothing as been heard from him since... well until his death of course. There's nothing really on "Mobbin 4 Life" that would make it sound much different from other g-rap of that era, it is fueled by the synth beats of Tony Pizarro which are effective enough. Sinister raps about being a street muthatfucka, your typical gangsta lingo. He does go against a few other groups like Cypress Hill and South Central Cartel but most of his disses are pretty weak. Overall it's a decent west coast release, maybe not a long-lost classic but it stays consistant with a good west coast sound and street raps. For west coast fans only.

oh shit ive heard his album before
yeah it wasnt anything that was crazy but tony's beats are always worth peeping

93-94 the strange old days when major labels were scrambling to sign West Coast gangsta rappers, I wonder how much the SCC banked out of their deal with Def jam

Word.. and The Show soundtrack Def Jam used as a way to give the group some exposure. That's the only time I ever heard them, I still need to check out their stuff. Because "So Whatcha Sayin" feat. Jayo Felony and Treach is a monster banger!!
-
i used to really like them but as i grew i really just saw that they were just typical west coast rappers. not a bad thang i guess but still they never really grew up in their music. Plus IMO they don't have a real "CLASSIC" album. too much filler in their albums. but def. had good albums!

Oh ya Im a big SCC fan, havnt bumped em in a while though. theyre old shit and new shit goes. Havikk & Evil Skeem were my favorites out of the SCC/Murder Squad, many many bangers on a whole lot of albums. Dont even know where to begin.. Halfdead just posted 2 good tracks and props on that Skeem track! never heard that 1. Besides in N Gatz We Trust, Havoc & Prodeje- Kickin Game, SCC- Allday Everyday, SCC Presents Murder Squad Nationwide are just as good too
