Surprised by this decision. They are the worst team of the 3 that chased him.

I think John Elway was the factor here.

Titans probably would have paid the same. That's what makes this SO confusing.

I'll take the young Bronco defense over the Titans D any day.

The only thing that the Titans offered him was a MUCH, much better running back & better WR core. Which Peyton proved for ten years, he doesn't really need. Just a shutdown defense.

Titans have a younger defense. 4 rookies started last year and they gave up 6 less PPG than the Broncos. They're just not as flashy (sacks).

Anyways, I HIGHLY doubt "defense" was a factor at all.

I think it was John Elway, perhaps not wanting to be in the same division as the Colts and the pressure/attention of playing where you went to College.

That has a lot to do with the division. 1/4 of your schedule was against the Colts & Jags lol.

& pre-Tebow, the defense just didn't care lol. Not to mention they got BLOWN OUT a few games because with Tebow the offense was "run, run, incomplete pass, punt" & the other team had twice as many possessions as they saw against anybody else. Eventually that style will get beat.

But defense may not have had anything to do with it. There isn't a shutdown defense in the AFC West. If you look at worst defenses in terms of giving points up in the AFC it goes Bills, Raiders, Colts, Broncos, Chargers, Chiefs. That's the entire AFC West in the bottom five lol.

The South has the Titans & Texans.

I'm going to assume that his decision was based on Saturday coming in too and Peyton running the exact same offense he ran in Indy. There was no way he was going to do that with Harbaugh and I guess Denver beat out Tenn in that department. I see Dallas Clark coming in too. My main concern is that Fox is just as conservative as Dungy. Hope he doesn't rest players while going perfect.

Although looking at the Schedule for Denver in 2012, Manning is really pushing it. He picked the worst team of the bunch going after him, and while it's the weakest division he has to go into New Orleans, Baltimore, Pitt, and NE. He has to play a Chargers Defense, that plays very well against him, twice, and against Ron Rivera's Panthers.

I mean this upcoming season can turn into a real bust based on that schedule alone. I'll say this; he gets a ring next year and he wins best NFL player ever award hands down.

On a side note; a kid I grew up with plays on the Broncos o-line.

^ Titans would have brought in Saturday also. Actually, Saturday is still scheduled to visit the Titans this week. He'll end up a Bronco though.

And Cham yes, the AFC south will be run by the Texans & Titans for the next 5 years.

This is a dream scenario for elway. This was the only move he could make that wouldn't have turned the fan base on him for replacing tebow.

Yep, he lucked out. And we all know he was never a fan of Tebow anyways.

Peyton Manning is such a class act. His press conference and interview with Rich Eisen was dope

I personally don't think the broncos are that good, even with Peyton.Last years team was a complete fluke. I see them going 9-7 or 10-6 and being bounced in the first round.

Exactly, so now my theory can really be put to the test. Unless Peyton gets severely injured early in the season and has to retire, I will not have a single excuse for Manning not doing better than he did with the Colts in the 2010 season. so if the Broncos don't win at least two playoff games I'll retract my best ever claim. But if they win the Super Bowl then Peyton has to get his due as The Best player in NFL history.

^I'll agree under the terms that Brady gets proclaimed #1.

^I'll agree under the terms that Brady gets proclaimed #1.

You mean if Denver doesn't win. That's hard for me either way, because even with out the existence of Manning I have a hard time putting Brady above, or even at the same level as Joe Montana or John Elway.

I even remember Rod Woodson scoffing at the idea of Brady being ahead of Elway on the top 100 of all time. he wasa guy that was a very smart and well versed defensive captain who played against both QBs in the primes of their careers and he was dumbfounded that people thought Brady was better than Elway. This was the opinion of a defensive stud whose job it was to dissect a QBs skill set and attack both physical and mentally.

Nothing I've seen on tape through the years makes me say I'd rather have Brady than Elway, so I can't say Brady is #1, but if Manning can't make shit happen in this 5 year deal, then I'll call Brady better than Manning. Peyton's excuses will be out the window. The first team he was stuck with, this team he chose, and I'd glad it wasn't the Niners because they're already good enough to win a Superbowl with any mid range QB. Denver isn't good enough to win anything, but if my theory holds true than Peyton can take a top 5 in the draft team to the playoffs time and again, then he should be able to get at least 1 ring in 4 years with a .500 team. two rings and he's the best ever hands down. 3 rings and he gets his own religion.
