They can't bring him in. Because Sanchez will have at least 3 games next season where he plays like shit, and by the 2nd or 3rd game they'll have to put in Tebow for the end of the game, and if Tebow Time shows up just once they have to run Sanchez out of town. And they just signed the guy to big money.

Jacksonville and Buffalo can bring him in, because neither Gabbert or Fitz have that much garaunteed money, I don't think. Miami just brought in a guy that came from running a pretty complicated offense. The only safe places for him to play and back up with out the starter being pushed out for a bad game would be NE, NO, NYG (maybe), and GB. But he'll be playing back up for a while.

I'd try for a trade with Tebow and Mallet and in NE. Maybe even try and squueze a very late round pick too. Ryan Mallet would be a stud to learn under Peyton for 4 to 5 years and Tebow can work with Josh McDaniels for 4 to 5 years learning whatever system Josh had in the works for him. he may never even play in NE. McDaniels may eventually end up with another HC job and bring Tebow with him.

New York would be incredibly stupid to bring him in

Jax makes the most sense although they have Gabbert and Henne

I hear the Rams are interested

LOL CLASSIC

Why would the Jets do this? As soon as Sanchez has 2-3 bad games which is inevitable, the fans and media are going to be calling for his HEAD and for him to be replaced with Tebow.

This is stupid, stupid, stupid.

Why give Sanchez that extension? Do they WANT him to fail? It sure as hell seems like it.

So let me get this straight..

They hurt his feelings by flirting with Manning who instantly turns them down, give Sanchez a big extension and then go out and trade for Tebow to be his backup? A media polarizing figure..

Wow, one of the stupidest front office moves..

What a joke.

This is the worst move they've made in years. This makes no sense.

A fun move? Are you retarded? I guess I can't expect much from a guy who claims the jets AND giants as favorite teams.

This move is going to cause utter chaos. Every time Sanchez makes a mistake theirs going to tebow chants by his retarded fan base.

I'm in shock of how inept this franchise just proved itself. This move could literally cripple the franchise.

The jets just went from having a quiet, dignified off season to becoming the joke of the NFL. Every other fan base is laughing at the jets, and rightfully so.

actually more people are probably laughing at the Saints for losing their coach for a whole year

No, they aren't. Go read some forums or comments sections. The jets are literally the laughing stock of the NFL right now. The saints got a championship out of their fuckery, but people are just in shock of the severity of the punishment.

Well, I'll be cheering for Tebow Time to happen and succeed. I love that guy. I think if they keep Tebow in the backfield to either block, run, or lateral to for a trow you could really confuse some teams. Sanchez might even surprise people with his ability to run and catch the ball. J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS!

So the trade hasn't gone through yet. Apparently some snag in tebows contract. Please in the name of everything holy don't let this deal happen.

Trade may fall through which would be equally funny. So the jets chased a QB, didn't get him, extended Sanchez as an apology and then tried to acquire another QB, failing again lol

I just get a kick about how you didn't even want Peyton to replace Sanchez and now you have to deal with the possibility of Tebow replacing him by mid season. First Timmie takes his girl and soon he'll take his spot on the roster.

edit- Namath is getting in the mix now as well. So now we have 3 of the top 5 QBs completely carried by their defenses to the playoffs all wearing gang green. I think Trent Dilfer and Jim McMahon finish out the list.

^ Don't forget Brad Johnson

Love what the Jets have done this off-season

1. Extended Sanchez
2. Signed Henson
3. Traded for Tebow

Now all they need is a QB and they're set!

Newly acquired Jets QB Drew Stanton reportedly may ask for a trade or his release after the team's addition of Tim Tebow.
Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum was noncommittal about Stanton's future in a Wednesday night conference call. "We'll see," said Tannenbaum. "... When we signed Drew, we didn't think (Tebow) was a possibility." Tannenbaum confirmed Tebow would be the No. 2 quarterback behind Mark Sanchez, leaving Stanton potentially ahead of only Greg McElroy on the Jets' depth chart.

The sad thing is, this is obviously just for publicity. Vince young can do everything Tim tebow can and comes with none of the headache. But it wasn't about that. It was about making headlines.

They need to do a jets hard knocks again, just for the pure fuckery that's going to happen.

I'd love to see tebow preaching to cromartie about abstinence while cro's 38 kids are running around.

I really wasn't sure what to expect this year as a fan about what direction they would take.

Instead of focusing on areas of need, like safety, OLB,ILB,RB,WR and Oline, they go after Tim tebow. What a fucking disgrace.

Title: Re: Jets express interest in Tim Tebow.

I don't think it's for publicity. The Jets aren't stupid enough to think you need "publicity" when you play in NEW YORK LOL. I'm not complementing them btw, no New York sports team can be dumb enough to think they need to make roster moves based on publicity LOL. That's reserved for small market teams.

It's a very stupid move, an inept one at that, but not because they want/need publicity.

NFL.com - While the trade is currently delayed, Tim Tebow's decision to agree to a move to the Jets was motivated by his belief that he can beat out Mark Sanchez for the team's starting quarterback job.

According to a story in Friday's edition of the New York Daily News: "A major factor in Tebow's push to come to New York over Jacksonville, his hometown, is that he sees a clear path to resuming his career as a starter, according to sources."

LOL, that's fucked up that he sees an easier path through Mark Sanchez, who two weeks ago signed a three year extension with the Jets, who are a fairly established playoff team, instead of going to the Jaguars, who have no hope & all he has to do is beat out Blaine Gabbert. & on top of that just about everything there was a fan from his Florida days & would be dying to see him play. Incredible.

This nigga, Tim lol.

Not really though. They aren't competitive. They aren't going anywhere. It's in Florida where he's a hero. They just want to fill up seats. He'd be named the starter probably by June lol.

The deciding factor I think would have to do with Mularkey vs Sparano. Tebow has a way better chance at winning over Sparano and Sparano has a way better chance at working in a Tebow-like system. Tebow can't run the Matt Ryan offense. Or maybe Tebow's priest said God wants him in NY to save the sinners.

Anyway, I see a real bad QB carousel going on in NY this year.

I never understood that. Tebow isn't a Wildcat guy. He's a shotgun-spread offense guy. Wildcat involves your WR or RB taking snaps & your QB in the corner as a decoy.

They would run the same offense they ran in Denver. The defense just has to be top three. But at the end of the day, you're not beating Tom Brady trying to beat him 10-7.

Yes, but having Chan Pennington as the decoy isn't really a decoy. Just a body you have to make sure your worst defender has an eye on. You can put Tebow in either the Ronnie Brown spot of the Wildcat and have him run with whoever the RB is at the Pennington position, or you can have Tebow in the Pennington position and have to really cover him. You can even keep him on the field when Sanchez is there and really confuse defenses.

I truly believe the safest bet is to have the both of them on the field for at least 25% of the offensive plays. Tebow can take a hand off, run a route. He can catch a lateral and have it be a pass/run option, and even take a surprise direct snap with Sanchez breaking out to the flat.

Someone made the statement that all of these same things could have been done with Vince Young, and I can agree with that. But I think Tebow's a little less beat up and a little more hungry and I could see why some would feel it has a better chance with Tebow.

Tebow said himself he had no choice in where he went.

Luna, I don't think you understand the jets. They've long been the " little brother" team to the giants. They played in giants stadium for years lol. Since the Favre signing the jets have been making splashy headline catching moves in an attempt to stand out of the shadow of the giants. This move was clearly publicity.
