Shit yeah, the jumpouts will kick down your door for that ripped copy of The Notebook.

I know people who got in trouble for that, meaning some thousand dollars had to be paid. I'd be surprised if American law were that different in this case. Only would I expect the punishment to be harsher.

well right after i dl it, i just put it in my external, so I'm not "outputting" any movies.

just be cool cause quite a few share bits, as you download bits.

a lot less safe to connect to torrents in the US than some other places, based on the amount of law suites being generated. personally i'd be careful if i was in the US, use a VPN or some type of proxy for torrents. copyright cartel aint playing these days with the cyberlocker crackdown.
-
I think you need to be downloadin A LOT of shit to get in trouble. I've been usin' torrents for years for movies and i never ain't had no trouble.

it's got a lot more to do with where you're located and the ISP being used...
some european countries are pretty good for protecting citizens from the copyright cartel types.

fraid not man, you gotta pay for VPN services really. and you want to use a service that's in a country with good laws and won't keep any records leading back to you. i mean this is pretty paranoid, but the way things have been going....depends what you're downloading too...ironically it's usually shit pop music and some bigger budget movies where they like to go after people. if its mostly less popular stuff and tv shows i wouldn't worry. also see what your ISPs record is in terms of lawsuits and giving up personal user data to copyright cartel.

You need a IP Ban List, my nigruh. Cuts out the majority of suspect seeders.

Don't forget to delete the torrent file too for good measure.

Someone compiled a list of IPs that people download off of that may be linked to the authorities and the RIAA n shit. They like to do cyber entrapment on them shits.

Why don't you just rent the original dvd's or blue-rays and rip the movies? No risk, full menue (different languages ect.) and how expensive can that be?

why would you wanna see the movie in a different language than the original one? ???

Yeah me too. Atleast here in Germany there is a certain risk.
I wouldn't use Torrents, one can still find nearly anything though hosters. Plus if you ever get caught for dowloading through a hoster you'd have way less to pay since you don't distribute the files

I wouldn't. But with some movies subtitles can be nice. That's what I meant by "different languages etc.".

the regular bittorrentz program, theres other programs??
-
I'm just only familiar with uTorrent and I can get certain IPs blocked with that. Not sure if you can do that with other programs.
