Everytime this album is brought up, people seem to shit on this song like its one of pacs worst songs lol....i actually dig the shit out of the beat, just wish he rapped on it more, even when i was a teen this shit always got play 8)
-
Yeah I like this song too. Bangs in a car system too.
-

but i guess it's far from the worst song in the world
-
Yeah I like this song too. Bangs in a car system too.

That would be Morris Day and The Time = 777-9311
I always liked Whatz Ya Phone #. Never understood why it was so hated. Could be because of the beat structure, kinda hard to flow to but Pac did it justice
-
I've always liked this song. Beat is funky. But like someone mentioned before, the outro is ridiculous, lol.

Nah, never. This shit is da bomb, and the outro is funny as hell, plus, that prince sample is bananas. Great song, far, far away from horrible
-
"What'z Ya Phone #" is one of the tracks from 'Pac I don't like and I always though this version was better compared to the OG one.

not the best use of a sample, great sampled track tho.

Put me down, Loved the OG sample & This track.
AEOM is back to back as far as I'm concerned.
On a side note, I was pissed that the OG "California Love" was left off the album & replaced by the remix.
didn't know about the genuis move to release the "How do u want it" single which included both "Califonia love" & Hit 'Em up".

Such a waste of 2Pac's talent and time. This song is on the level of Nas making Dr. Knockboot.

Yeah.. the song is still dope. One great thing about All Eyez On Me and why it is possibly the greatest hip-hop album of all-time, is that it is around 26 tracks deep (a double-album) with no skits, and yet every track is listenable! No filler! That is saying a lot considering how many tracks and how fast Pac completed the album. The album is pure genius.
That being said, "What's Your Phone #" is probably my least favorite and least listened to track on the album. But it is still dope, and was still a good fit for the album.
-
this thread inspired me to listen to AEOM back to back
classic..not that i ever thought otherwize over the past 14 years lol
-
cmon guys its filler
always hated How do u want it as well

Yeah theres a reason for that, because it is one of Pac's worst songs...more than likely his absolute worst. Although...
"What'z Ya Phone #" is one of the tracks from 'Pac I don't like and I always though this version was better compared to the OG one.

^ exactly what I was gonna say. not only is this version 10x better than the original, its not just dope by comparison, shit is actually a damn good song. whoever turned that trash into this piece of gold is a pure fuckin genius.

This song is the epitome of a filler

always hated How do u want it as well
Whoa really? To each his own but I never heard anyone not liking How Do You Want It.

I guess Im just not the biggest AEOM fan. Trim it to a single album and yeah Id be all over it
Honestly I think Me against the world is his best and most human album, after that his subject matter narrowed and we got countless retreads of the guy riding on his enemies, downin liquor shouting out thuglife and M.O.B
If I die tonight>>any song released afterward
Strictly 4 my niggaz is underrated as well

The Dannyboy origional is way iller. Danny Boy did his thing on the AEOM album. You can't take him off any of his tracks and say "it's better".

all eyez on me was very minimal with disses...everything was subliminal.
aeom was nothing but chill music besides a few hardcore songs like no more pain and aint hard to find

hennesee and enemies make my dick grow.

LOL
-
Truth said, I dug the whole album. Bump.
-
entire album was unbelievably sick... production from johnny j, dre, daz, dj quik, devante... guest appearences from e-40, dogg pound in their prime, snoop, meth and red, basically everyone who was on top of the game at that point in time. not to mention quik mixed every song?? how can u not b a fan of this album ???
-
that beat just sounds off beat :D
-
I always liked this song. It does catch hate though, obviously someone looped up that sample and Pac dropped a couple quick verses, nothing amazing, but still dope.
If I remember right, this was the last song on one of the discs so it kinda worked to close out / outro whatever.
-
gotta luv the instrumental

I've always liked it. I think if it had been released as a single then it would have been big, especially geared towards the club scene. I only wish that the outro didn't exist.
-
the song is not that bad , its an old The Time beat aka morris day . its a party song
-
Doubt you´re the only one man. My sig n ava says it all. 8)
-
i dont like that song.
mediocre.
-
Not my favorite but I liked it
-
unnecessary filler
horrible on every level
Do a bear shit in the woods? Does iT?!! ---- then something about wiping an ass with a rabbit?
--- Can I shift your gears
--- Can I fuck you over the balcony looking over LA
Wow that whole outro ruins the song entirely. And what's up with the Alize?? That shit is gay as FUCK! I bet boos Mike Madsen and OG Will B drink that shit togetha!
-
i don't like that they tried to make a rap spong outta this, it doesn't fit at all to me. The original by The Time produced by Prince is a classic though. That drum machine work was epic for that time.
-
that song is one of my favorite 2pac songs...i think people who don't like it, got absolutley no funk in them...
and that beat is absolutley NOT off beat lol...it's polyrhythm, damn

guess peeps must be a bit older to feel that kind of beats.

That doesn't have anything to do with age guys...
As I said before, I just think it doesnt fit for a rap song, the original track is still a classic to me.

yeah i believe its a generational thing if there was a lot of prince in your house hold as a kid you were more prone to liking this song.
im bumping jerk out as i type this.

The song is aiight, didn't like that Pac was kinda off beat
