recent outings from these guys suggest theyre having an identity crisis. Im not sure why in this climate of musical freedom and opportunities that these guys cant get their shit together and release dope product
Look at how other vets such as Tech 9, Lynch hung, E-40,Kool G rap,Sean price and many others are putting out music that in some cases betters what they were doing 10-15 years ago.
When was the last time the Dpg clique put out something that sounded vital or made you sit back and think damn these guys have still got it
And look at the production talent on the coast, all these guys need to do is forget about the wack fucking features and down south club shit get 3-4 of the guys they work best with,work hard and drop something that is going to enhance their legacy

You can when the "moment" has lasted 7-8 years. We've been waiting for Kurupt to snap out of it since 03. Daz is still rapping nursery rhymes from his Death Row era, if I hear "hold up wait a minute" or "all day night and all day long" 1 fuckin more time - its a wrap.
Snoop...man I'm tellin you, he has another dope project or 2 left in him. I was listening to PTCTBTB the other day and thought about it, Snoop has NEVER given us anything serious/matured as an artist. If he can start doing that on his next few projects and stop with this "for the ladies" nonsense that has been hampering him since 04 (minus Blue Carpet) then he has a chance to finish his career real strong.

bro Im a massive Dogg Pound fan and Im definitley not disregarding their track record prior to the break up. I just would love to see guys STEP their game up and do right by their legacy.
Ive seen glimpses of dopeness in the last 5-6 years but its always been buried under a bunch of half assed crap

No doubt they make too much down south influenced stuff but i think all westcoast rappers are doing that or have gone through that. Snoop well iam a big fan but i wont be buying no rnb album or reggae album.. The new dpg mix tap i listened to some it sounds not bad. But yep south style.
I wouldnt mind a hustle boyz album though or a dogg pound/hustle boyz collabo album 8)

Your right. I don't care if DPG never does 1 more thing the rest of their lives. What they've done is set in stone. They are already legends in the game.

Honestly I believe they need a good production and someone to direct them. When Snoop took the DPG project "Cali Iz Active" it could have been a classic. Instead he was in control and messed it up. If this Dr. Dre and Dogg Pound thing is true, "maybe" we will see something nice. I just don't like Snoop getting control because all he has been putting out is trash himself. It's almost like Snoop just bops his head and "Yes that's hot". Daz seems to be working hard but no $$. Kurupt is way off on his lyrics in laa-laa land.

Yup. There was also some behind-the-scenes footage at a video shoot where he just started freestyling. It was nothing mindblowing, but still entertaining nonetheless.
Maybe Kurupt should just make an album or at least a mixtape of completely freestyled lyrics, since it seems he generally does better that way. I remember reading that Trylogy was completely freestyled, and Live on the Mic with KRS-One sounds like it was freestyled too.
