Nobody can say that Big's track was equal to "New York New York". "New York, New York" was a legendary track. Dogg Pound came to tear shit down. Because a lot of niccaz were running around at the time talking that wooptie wooh, that ohh Death Row they can't rap, Death Row they can't wooptie Woop.. and Kurupt beat all them niccaz at the own game. The way he's spittin on the track is almost with an East Coast style of lyricism and he just destroyed all them niggaz and beat them at their own game. That's hip-hop. You want to be the best you got to battle the best.
Big on the other hand was dope in his own right. But that's like comparing the Minor Leagues to the Majors. Death Row was the industry gold standard. Anything Big did was on a minor league level.

news flash !!!!!!! kurupt was born in philly. LOL @ biggie bein' minor league...u out ya mind. biggie was the man. had the clothes, jewels, cars, hoes, and the money. in fact biggie probably had more money than kurupt, snoop, daz at that time. how was he minor league ?

New york new york is better then la la & goin bac 2 cali
and it's that simple. smh @ thread like this even existing.
NY NY is a CLASSIC. Can't say same for the Back 2 Cali and LA LA.
Musically and lyrically NY NY was superior to both other tracks.
And to the notion of BIG in minor league i would agree, but they were major for the east coast and Death Row's only non-threatening competition.
So I can understand why one feel they were minor cause they never put up DR's numbers and that's a good enough argument to call them minor when stand against DR.

Kurupt was reading out of a dictionary on that song . He was using words alot of people didnt even know LoL
