I can't imagine the movie has anything to do with the game. Seems like they titled it that to cash in on a name. There isnt even a story to the game is there?

Saw this last night and actually thought it was a pretty good movie. But yeah, aside from trying to capitalize on the name recognition of the game, it has little else to do with it. I mean, there is a battleship in it, but that's about the only connection I could make to the game.

Well, I can't argue with the point that it's a ridiculous premise, bearing little resemblance to the Game from which it is supposed to be based. An interesting rumor that I've read online is that the movie's poor performance is one of the reasons that Paramount decided to move the release date of the G.I. Joe sequel from this month, all the way to March of next year. While I don't know how the G.I. Joe sequel will turn out, personally, (ridiculous premise aside) I thought "Battleship" was a much better movie than the original G.I. Joe movie. In my opinion, the studio's biggest mistake with "Battleship" was trying to market it as a movie called "Battleship."
