Title: Huth: Podolski will fit Premier League better than Marin
Post by: The_Ripper on May 24, 2012, 10:37:58 AM
The Stoke City central defender has offered his thoughts on Arsenal and Chelsea's incoming German signings and has underlined his desire to remain with the Potters.

Stoke City defender Robert Huth has backed Lukas Podolski to shine at Arsenal, believing that he will be more successful than Chelsea's latest acquisition Marko Marin.

The German duo are set to join their compatriot in the Premier League next season but the Potters centre-back says that the former Koln man's experience will see him flourish more than his young compatriot.

"It's a big transfer for Marin! To join such a big club. It will be hard for him to make the first team. Lukas has almost 100 caps, right?" huth told Goal.com.

"He will do a little better than Marin because of his experience. But who knows? Maybe I'm wrong and it will be the other way around and Lukas will be the one having problems.

"Lukas is more athletic, faster and stronger. When you look at Lukas, he is built for the Premier League. You have to wait and see how he copes with everything.

"He was valued at £12 million, that is a lot of pressure to deal with. Marin wasn't cheap, too, and there weren't many people who were expecting this transfer.

"But I wish good luck to both of them. It's nice to have some more Germans in England after [Michael] Ballack and Jens [Lehmann] have left."

Huth went on to discuss the difference between football in Germany and England, emphasising that the two new recruits must step up to the pace of the Premier League if they are to succeed.

"When I watch Bundesliga matches on TV, I see that everything is a step slower. That's what you realised when [Arsenal's] Per [Mertesacker] came over here," he added.

"In the first months he had problems because everything is going faster - not necessarily better in terms of technique or tactics - but definitely faster and more aggressive than what Per was used to from the Bundesliga."

The 27-year-old, whose contract expires next summer, also hinted at the possibility of seeing out his deal with the Staffordshire club before moving on.

"I think that I will stay here, although I'd like to try something different," he continued.

"But I'm enjoying it here. It's fun and I get along very well with everybody. That's why I don't see a reason to change anything."

Sure he has some skills.
But c'mon, how many times have you watched the Bundesliga recently?  ;)

Sorry, but he wasn't even good enough for Bremen. He didn't even play there much despite their dramatic decline.

I've watched a lot of games this season, @ Bremen Marin was one of the best last year.

Which doesn't mean alot ;D

He had 1 goal and 5 assists in 21 games, not really impressive. I predict he fails @ Chelsea
