Take A Look Over Your Shoulder was a West Coast classic in my opinion. You could bump it the whole way through without skipping.
I was bumping it on a long drive the other day and on the 8th track "What We Go Thru" I never really could make out all the lyrics. But he says something like "Sweet as Mister Smith (LL Cool J's) dookie/ ... Why you going back to Cali (hit song by LL)" and so on.
Couldn't really make out the lyrics, but what ya'll think?

old news Brian, yes he did.
and LL dissed Warren on a song too.

what's the backstory
I googled it and didn't find anything. Seems odd because LL had a close relationship with Def Jam and Take A Look Over Your Shoulder was released on Def Jam. Also LL was recording "Zoom" with Dre about a year after this beef took place. And ofcourse Dre and Warren are brothers.

lol just because two people are close in the industry don't mean that another can be friend with one and not get along with the other. Pac was friends with Bone Thugs & DPG when Bone Thugs & DPG were beefing, there are many examples. and Dre's not even that close to Warren, shit was magnified by the media (they aren't brothers, just step brothers, no blood relation and Dre never really associated himself with Warren G, or he did reluctantly).
idk why he dissed warren and i don't think the whole song's dedicated to him, just a slick line. it seems like LL was jealous / tired of G-Funk's prominence in the mainstream.

What We Go Thru (OG version w/Tha Dogg Pound) was the best recording of those sessions. Shame it never made the album.

I didn't think the Dogg Pound version was any better. Would of been nice to have their names on the album though. And why did Suge clear Nate Dogg but not the Dogg Pound?
