As we know from the dj quik interview the version on these days on the gang released sound track was the dj quik remix does any one know if the OG version produced by teddy riley ever leaked, Also does any one have the dj quik clean radio version as the beat is a bit different http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNHmiiKbKbU&feature=related as you can hear here,
DX: Did you get to really work with Nate Dogg at all during that period?
DJ Quik: Yeah. He had this song called “These Days.” He gave me the tapes. Teddy Riley had did the beat for him. And we sat up in there together and he let me … you know, he let me remix it for him. I mixed it for him. I would do anything for Nate. Nate was just a easy guy [to work with].

Daz Dillinger don't have the credit, Nate Dogg was credited as Writter, Performer & Producer. Tommy D. mixed the soundtrack version @ Can-Am Recorders
-
I miss that real R'N'B like Jodeci, Nate Dogg, Teddy Riley, Old school Usher, K-Ci & Jojo and old school Mary J. Blige.

Seriously? Quik produced Scandalouz!?
That makes sense to me: this is one of the only Tupac songs in my top 25 most played. The rest are DJ Quik.
Shouldda known all along!
-
Daz would only ever have laid down the drums (and you can hear his typical sound on the album version)
Enough to warrent a full producer credit? Who knows/cares
Was that video version ever released?
-
at the begining of skandalouz doesnt pac say somethin like daz get off them keys/piano? if hes runnin with the "lets say daz did the beat" thing, then thats pretty disrespectful to quik...

DJ Quik arranged the beats & the samples and added some elements. He also mixed most of the songs for "All Eyez On Me"...
-
I promise u daz didn't play the jazz piano chords on skandalous...daz couldn't do that shit if he tried daz dont play bass eitherand u can hear quiks percussion all over that song...daz came with a drum track and a sample. Quik basically finished his beat
-
We also not gonna talk about the fact quik produced on doggfood too?
-
so we just gonna act like daz didnt produce hit after hit when he had one chin?

DX: I just know “Skandalouz” wouldn’t be the classic it is without the talk box [you added to it].
DJ Quik: Yeah, I touched [that record]. I had my boy, Cornelius Mims, play bass on it. That was Daz [Dillinger]’s beat. Daz shot it to me and I really made it a record that they wouldn’t have to clear a sample with. I played Rhodes [electric piano] on there too. I was coming.

what fact ? i may have read here and there that Quik had touched some things on dogg food, but it's never been confirmed, contrary to Dre's heavy involvement. what songs do you have in mind for dogg food ?? i can't really hear quik's touch on Dogg Food, except maybe for Bomb Azz Pussy.
-
the way i remember hearing it was in the middle of the dogg food project dre and daz had some sort of altercation which made alot of the mixing and polishing duties fell upon "others"
ive also heard that quik helped Raphael saddiq behind the scenes on doggfather more then either got credit for
-
haha yeah i remember reading a Daz interview in which he said they had to pull a gun on Dre in order for him to mix Dogg Food, but never took it literally and even believed it knowing it.
Me and him did the whole album but we made the sound for everybody. I was doing the beats and Dre mixed it down or we had somebody else mix it down, but we had to fight and pull a gun on Dre to mix my shit. He was on some other shit.
http://escobar300.wordpress.com/2011/04/05/in-the-wonderful-world-of-daz-dillenger/
classic shit.
-
doubt quik had any major input on "dogg food"...most of the production/mixing on that album was done by dre. nothing on there sounds like quik.
-
fuck outta here nik lol
this guy is the biggest closet dre stroker ive seen from america in a while.

lmao if u really think quik had anywhere near the involvement of dre in "dogg food"
fact of the matter is, dre ghost-produced a majority of that album. never, until today, have i ever heard anything about quik's involvement.
-
Basically he was employed as an engineer he prob touched everything they dropped between 94 and 96
Remember during this time Dre served a lil time at club fed and when he got done his work ethic wasn't exactly strong.
Quik was silently holding shit down.

Quik said it in a link provided in this thread also look at ny87 you don't find it odd that quik makes a cameo on one of the scrapped songs from doggfood?

Can't believe I have to explain it, but think about it, Dogg food was released halloween, pac got out just 4/5 weeks before that.
Ny87 was recorded because biggie got on the radio in nyc and said 2Pac and Tha Dogg Pound were shooting a video. 2Pac wasn't even in NY at the time.
Dogg Food Sessions did not take place after 2Pac got to Death Row. Even without the additional recording dates from bpomb1st to back this up in theoir breakdown of Dogg Food, this logic would make sense.

Wow. Thanks for posting this and that link.
Man, these mfs can't fuck with the greatest.
The first part of DX’s Q&A with arguably "the greatest Hip Hop producer to ever emerge from the pacific coast"
That sounds about right.
