Oh yeah, I finally decided to buy Paid the Cost today, since it was so cheap.
After close examination it seems that E-White wrote the lyrics for the Premo-produced "The one and only"..
"Written By" says E.White along with 10-15 others.. but the others were sampled, and that's why they get credited.. E-White was definately not sampled, and even if it also says Written by C.Broadus, that's probably because Preem sampled Next Episode & Bitch Please..
Pretty strange.. as this track is considered the best lyrical effort on the album..
-
yea...Snoop cant write for shit...PeAcE
-
Snoop needs to hire The D.O.C.
-
He needa get Eminem or Rakim...LoL
-
I never thought of that. good observation
-
Snoop said he was never a good writer. He was always better at freestyling his verses.
Peace
-
snoop freestyles used 2 be tight as fuck... wtf happened to snoop?
~1~
-
yeah bullet i noticed that also when i first bought the album. I dunno he could have written the songs that were sampled so thats why they gave him credit but even if he did write The one and only It wasn't the whole thing. I know snoop must have written sum shit.

LOL

"The one and only" & "Paperd up" - the 2 best lyrical tracks on the album.. written by E-White and Rakim.. :-\
Some people still think it's better lyrical than "Last Meal" ??
-
people say E-white wrote Return of the regulator too, as a ghostwriter for G-dub.
No matter what, E-white is a pretty good lyricist.
-
That's why I think E-White might have a promising future
-
Good song, lyrics are cool and shit but still aint aint the bomb or nothing.
-
Snoop needs to hire The D.O.C.
That's so true it's not even funny.

He didn't ghostwrite for Warren G. He Wrote for Warren G. E-white got credit for writing.
-
just because he is credited don't mean shit, he probably co wrote it.....he could have easily been like snoop you should say this instead on a few lines.....and the best lyrics on there was on stoplight, and he had other tight ass lines on there too

LOL
No joke! In his interview with thaformula.com, D.O.C said he wouldn't even write the lyrics for Snoop sometimes; he would just read over his shoulder and tell him where he fucked up with a weak rhyme.
Personally I don't think there's anything wrong with getting someone else to write your rhymes, as long as you admit it. Everyone can read the credits, so as long as you're not ashamed that you got help, I don't give a fuck.
I'd rather hear a rapper with dope delivery (like Snoop) rap some hot lines from a dope lyricist than hear the same rapper rap his ownwack lines.
-
I thought "Stoplight" was the dopest, but I think Soopafly wrote that one.

Nah..
First.. you wouldn't get a "written by" for saying 2 lines.
Second.. I could be wrong, but that doesn't sound like E-White at all, unless he got a cold. More like Primo!!!
Judging from the lyrics in this track, and comparing them to E-White's rhyme patterns, I would say it's 98% sure that E-White wrote most of the track.
I think E-White wrote the 1st & 2nd verse, and Snoop made the 3rd.
Judge for yourself:

Now compare that to the verses E-White has been dropping lately..
