We've all heard this shit before.  This ain't new

How much "in the dark" do u think the public is about anything Dr. Dre/Aftermath related?  Even these young niggas hip.  Everybody knows u have a better chance hitting the jackpot on the Mega Millions than seeing an Aftermath release.  Unless it's on Shady then it probably ain't coming out

Yeah... I would say that calling people who disagree with you dumb, is a sign of intelligence.

1. Don’t Kill My Vibe – Kendrick explained the song as a subliminal message to the people that expect for artists like himself to blow up and forget where they came from but this is him showing he’s remained the same. “Bitch don’t kill my vibe” is the hook.

2. Poetic Justice feat. Drake – This is a song for the females that dudes can enjoy too. Surprise? It samples a Janet Jackson song called “Any time, Any place” and features a verse from Drake. K Dot and Drizzy both end their verses with this line “I can’t right my wrongs unless I write them for real”. Hey and guess what? apparently they’re already shooting a music video for this.

3. Now Or Never (?) feat. Mary J. Blige – This is a very radio friendly song and has potential to be a single. To be honest, it’s the best MJB has sounded in a minute, to me anyway. Kinda in the same vein as “Reach Out” on Life Is Good but a lot better, in my opinion. I can’t recall any specific quotables from Kendrick because the entire production and hook of the song was that good.

4. Title Unkown feat. MC Eiht. – West coast shit at it’s finest. Don’t remember any lines but you’ll like this one. Beat sounds like it might have been Dr. Dre.

5. Party Nauseous feat. Lady Gaga - The way to describe this is, if you can find any of Gaga’s songs from when she was on Def Jam, she sounds more like that than the super eccentric pop machine she is now.

6. Title Unknown (Prod. Hit-Boy) – this is a banger. Hit-Boy delivers once again.

Despite a rainy night and hurricane warnings for the greater tri-state area, Hip-Hop packed out the 37th street, Chung King Studios. Split into two separate listenings, Kendrick Lamar previewed less than a handful of tracks off his highly anticipated good kid, m.A.A.d city album, for an anxious crowd. Listeners were asked to put all recording devices and cell-phones away to avoid music being leaked. Addressing the crowd which faced him through a large paneled window, Kendrick explained to the New Yorkers that they were the first to witness the recordings before even his hometown. "New York first," stated the Compton MC who seemed uneasy with the overcrowded studio.

On the first cut "Partynauseous," which blared through the studio speakers, Digi+Phonics own Sounwave handles the production. The track shows a more progressive sound from Kendrick's 2011 (The Source Magazine's Independent Album Of The Year) Section.80 release. Featuring none other than Lady Gaga whose voice is distorted (sounding like nothing she's ever put out) to keep from moving away from the albums main objective. The second track produced by Hit-Boy featured a jazz undertone with a heavy base. A New York twist, but still Cali to the core. While it was a bit noisy in the studio the words, "Martin had a dream, Kendrick had a dream," could be heard displaying the underlying message behind most of Kendrick's music... his own life.

With TDE joining forces with Interscope, Dr. Dre's voices finds his way to the third track. Kendrick and Dre switch off on their verses twice over a strong Just Blaze produced track. He also refers to himself as, "KING Kendrick Lamar."

Moving on quickly to a record which shows K.Dot's studio time with Q-Tip coming to fruition. The legendary figure in Hip-Hop jumps behind the boards to produce one of the early standout tracks of the album. The sound was very much The Renaissance meets Section.80. On the final preview of the night, Kendrick teams up with Drake for a track which samples a classic from Janet Jackson's, "Anytime, Anyplace." So far m.A.A.d good.

Kendrick's good kid, m.A.A.d city is set to drop October 22nd via TDE/Interscope/Aftermath.
