As we all know Quik has switched his production style. A lot of people are against it but I think his new style is a fresh sound. It's more diverse now without his usual "signature bassline" and zapp-esque beats which I love but am happy to see change. His production on Under The Influence was good but I really loved the beat to "Addictive" which was totally different from anything I've heard in a few years. Quik had me amazed with "Get Up" too. In all honesty I've been feeling his production more than Dre in the past year.

I like it a lot as well...
He's been MUCH more diverse with the infulences he uses to create his beats.
Udu drums on the latest groove,
Addictive,
Get up sounding like some parliment/funk type shit...
It's clear he's becoming much more open to all types of music and incoporating it into his music.
It gets the thumbs up from me.

Personally I've always felt Quik's production more than Dre's, but you're never going to get a unanimous opinion on that on this board.
As far as the new production style goes, I can happily play Under Tha Influence from start to end, so it must be dope, but I miss that thick, heavy and most of all SOULFUL sound of his other albums. I think that's the main thing he's missing a little now = the groove. Not to say he isn't still my favourite producer in the rap game period, cuz he is, but if he ever hits us off with one more album I'd prefer it to sound like any of the other albums than UTI.

i like his new style, shit ive never heard a Quik track i didnt like. i think the only thing i really missed from UTI was that classic Quik percussion

Im lovin his current style! But I don't think I'll ever will experience a more well-produced album than Safe+Sound.. But I like the fact that Quiks takin his production to the next-level.
-
well I wasn't feelin it at first. till I played it in my system. don't Knock it till ya Bump it.
-
I'm def. feelin it. Under the influence is my fav. album since 2001.
-
how can you not like it
still the 2nd best producer
-
at first i thought it was wack, then it grew on me, he deserves a chance to work with bigger names
peace

It's cool. Sometimes a little too simple compared to the older shit he did, but still better than damn near everything out now.

His new sound is dope but that P funk shit from safe + sound is much tighter.
Like the homie said I miss them dj quik percussions

yea his new production style is tight... i wasn't really fillin' that "trouble" track when i first heard it but the album still came out tight, it was a dissapointment to me thou... "addictive" was crazy thou... quik is a musical genius n he really set a trend wit that shit cuz i'm hearin' lots more beats that have samples soundin' similar... n safe + sound was a masterpiece... i love mostly all quik's shit thou... he doesn't get enuff props in the game... he's the tightest producer ever... he's just on another level then every1 else... and what about "john doe" off shade's album... ohh my god...
