ain't the most important, plus I'd say well enough otherwise he wouldn't keep dropping so many albums if he was losing money of them, but to me what's most relevent if he being THAT hungry at this point in his career & to be able to do THAT MUCH good music.

if the music is good then go for it! but i do wish he would make a complete ONE album! like some kind of content in it.

I agree. When he first dropped night shift and day shift off "revenue retrievin" it was really cool. two consistent albums, a new flavor compared to his warner bros. releases from before. he brought that updated, bassy mob music.
overtime shift and graveyard shift had their highlights as well, but you could feel the loss of creativity and the quality of the beats decreased likewise. when he dropped the block brochure installments this year, i was still hyped since it was still 40 water, but after I made through all three records, I gotta say I was pretty underwhelmed. It would even be hard for me to make a best of with like 15 outstanding tracks. most of the beats are mediocre or boring, the old school sounding tracks e.g. the one with celly cel & spice 1 are cool, but they dont fit the sound of the other tracks and then again, he decreased his lyrical strength, entertainment and creativity. I'm not saying this is unusual when you record so many tracks within 3 years, common sense tells you that one cant stay creative in this narrow subject matter 40 is always moving in.
so there are two possibilities for the new albums: either he comes up with a concept for all three records and doesnt just put tracks randomly sequenced on a CD-R - which I don't see because the creativity in the title choice tells you enough; or he is just gonna drop another mediocre, content impoverished compilation triple disc, where e-40 fans like me will have to struggle through to find the 10-15 tracks really worth bumping more than once.
i'm afraid i expect a similar situation for the e-40 & too short collabo record. but at least they chose to divide them into two records differentiated in the sound. well, the title suggests it, let's see if the music lives up to it.

40 just doin it for the performance. to be honest, and i'm a huge 40 fan, the block brochures don't have much replay value, there are a lot of semi-dope trakcs, and decent tracks, and a few very good tracks, but 40 would have been better off compiling the best of them on a single 20 track album. a lot of the stuff sound redundant too. not that it bothers me cause i like his style regardless and it's pretty much always entertaining.
i think the first two RR installments weren't that good, and that 40 had left off arguably the best song off the two albums (the song with B-Legit & Jeezy which was a serious slapper imo).
on the other hand, the overtime & graveyard are the highlight of 40's recent releases IMO. With songs like Gunz, Drugz, 43, E-40, Mr Flamboyant 2011, That Candy Paint, My Money Straight, 40 really hit home with those two.
the production was better on OS & GS, even though the production is on point on the first 3 BB's,

I hope he really reaches out to the right people for the features and productions though, a 40 & Mannie Fresh song is way overdue since Baller Blockin'. Can you imagine him with Scarface, Talib Kweli, DJ Quik, Big KRIT, Mystikal, Jazze Pha, Curren$y, 8Ball & MJG, Crooked I, etc.

funny thing:
While E-40 makin 6 records in a year, Mc Eiht can't make 1 record in 6 year...

i wonder how much did 1 2 and 3 sold
i remember he did something like 34k on the first week, i thinks it's a good score for an independant artist !!
-
34k is good for the 1st week imo too.
but revenue and... albums (all 4) sold more than 300k.

I remember Nima saying something like 40 almost made a mill off his revenue retrievin records in sense of "money to the pocket".
As for your statement about Eiht: The difference is that Eiht is signed to Premo's label, so he doesn't decide when the album is gonna drop. He released 2 or 3 mixtapes though and to be honest, a lot of tracks on the last 3 E-40 cd's could have been mixtape tracks as well, or let's say they would have better been kept off a "real" album. just my opinion.
-
yeah i forgot abut the mixtapes :-[

if hes announcing this...and we've heard nothing from history channel mob music...and 1 track from function music, im guessing these projects with too short are quick side projects, that really got half assed...just a feeling i have :-\
