Do you think paying homage to another artist is another form of swaggerjacking or a legitimate way of honoring somebody?

Black ppl and makin up ghetto names... Is it a tribute to our culture or just random ignorance?

Shay D is a rapper and lyricist from London. She has been writing poetry and rapping for over ten years. Poetry has been her main passion from a very young age. Growing up listening to hip hop and witnessing the birth of the UK garage and grime scene, influenced her poetry towards MCing. Her main influences have been strong female rappers such as Mystic, Salt N Pepa and Foxy Brown, storytelling rappers such as Jedi Mind Tricks and Immortal Technique and melodic artists such as Bone Thugs and Harmony. From the age of 15 she started to MC with other artists showcasing on pirate radio and open mics. In Cyprus in 2003, she entered a MC contest and came 1st place over 11 other male MC’s. This boosted her confidence as she was quite a discreet performer to continue her art. Shay D was always aware of her environment and the troubles young people were going through and felt a responsibility towards them. She decided to combine her love of hip hop and social awareness to run Rap and Lyric Writing workshops for young people across London. Shay D continues to write poetry and record underground rap to perform at shows and distribute online. Her main shows are usually in support of charities and fundraisers. DEPENDS HOW IT'S DONE.. FOR INSTANCE, BIGGIE SWAGGER-JACKED JAY-Z LIKE NO OTHER FOR HIS ENTIRE CAREER. PAYING HOMAGE WOULD BE MORE LIKE WHAT SNOOP DID 2 RAKIM:

It's ingrained in hip-hop culture to call-back to other songs, samples and artists

But not everyone can pull it off without looking corny
