It's like the No Limit/Master P era in Snoop's career never happened. Has it came up in any of his interviews over the last several years? I was just curious if he's still cool with P and if P gave him good treatment over at No Limit

I'm sure he's still cool with P. Think the two big reasons he doesn't talk about it is a) no one asks and b) almost all of his hit singles were either recorded on Death Row or after he left No Limit. Not saying he didn't have popular songs while on NL, but they weren't nearly as successful as his pre and post NL stuff.

Makes sense... I thought that was a cool piece that P did at the end of Last Meal, just thanking Snoop for what he did for No Limit, and wishing him success as he departed. Supposedly Beets By The Pound says P didn't pay them properly, but Sons of Funk and other artists on the label said that P would not only pay them but would make sure they owned whatever got, like bought them houses and shit in their name. They said artists who complained probably blew their money and it wasn't P's fault.
So from what I've seen I've always been impressed with the way P handled business.

what about WOOF? ;)
oh and Snoop made 2 of his best non-DR songs on no limit: "its all on a ho" and he guest appeared on "the Shaggy Show" song 8)

MP was shady with a lot of his artists but not Snoop. remember snoop was a superstar when he signed on no limit so there's no way he was going to sign his life away. even C-Murder had issues with P over royalty checks though lol. P is the reason why Snoop remained relevant, Snoop caught flack for signing with the Tank but all his No Limit albums went at least platinum.
P always treated Snoop right and showed him the ropes of the game as far as putting a label together. his tenure on NL was bound to be a short one as Snoop had already founded Dogghouse in 1998. and Snoop pays homage to MP quite often and in several songs, i'm sure they're still cool and it wouldn't surprise me to see them collaborate for P's come back (P recently did a song with problem).

ive seen him talk about P all the time. i mean not like the death row days all the time but still hear it a lil bit. he always says P saved his life and career.
-
He probably was treated poorly as well but amazing compared to rapping for suge knight for left over dog food and blunt roaches...

I actually liked when Snoop was on No Limit. Some of my fav Snoop songs are from that era. Top Dogg and Last Meal are both very solid albums, and even when I listen to Da Game now, it sounds like a good cd compared to the shit released these days. Da Game has a hand full of bangers on there IMO.

You're wrong in this regard - Bitch Please is the song that put him back on the map essentially, and that was recorded on No Limit. All his songs on 2001 were recorded while on No Limit, and he's wearing a No Limit chain in the Still D.R.E. video.

That's why the word almost is in there ;)
I was referring to solo work with the hit singles. Obviously being with P opened a lot more doors to collab with artists he wouldn't have been cleared to work with while on DR.

Yep. I actually dug Snoop on No Limit. Da Dame Is To Be...was one of my fav albums. Not a lot of ppl liked him on that south shit though.

P recently recorded new songs with Kirko Bangs, Problem, Game, Nipsey Hussle, Chief Keef and Fat Trel with production from 1500 or Nothin, so i wont be surprised if he gets Snoop on a song aswell. His upcoming album wil blow everything up!! Cant wait! Boss of All Bosses -Master P.

Snoop and P have always been cool...they're both genius businessmen and have a mutual respect. Snoop learned a lot from P, they're probably the only 2 rappers i could never picture beefin with each other.
-
"tha last meal" was one of his best albums for me !
-
iam sure i heard something ages ago about P doin another west coast bad boyz album and Snoop being on it. Could be wrong though?

i wouldn't call snoop a "genius businessman" especially considering how he ran his dogghouse label but I guess he has business acumen since he made 10 mill last year lol. anyway Snoop was mad a P at one point, after P unilaterally chose Snoop's Pop Ya Collars and other songs for his NL compilations. but P doesn't do the beef thing, he doesn't hold grudges and he never started a beef but was always the target of criticism whether it be from Pimp C, C-Bo, Yukmouth, or New Breed of Gangstaz (90's group from richmond, CA). even during the late 90's rivalry with Cash Money P never said anything about Cash Money, dude is all about his money.

i'd call him a genius just based on how he established the Snoop brand and made it probably the strongest individual name of any west coast artist to date. his name has been attached to so many different products, more than most star athletes. it's pretty genius, to me. and yea...P is the type a dude 2 keep shit respectful, even if he's got a problem with u. he's been dissed a gang, especially for biting the bay. but like u said, he always kept it money.

If im not mistaken mo b dick is on the dpgc mixtape that came a few months ago
-
yeah but mo b dick doesn't fuck with P anymore though, just like most of the BTTP clique although they're cousins. i remember reading a murder dog interview where mo b dick broke it down why he & p weren't really cool anymore.
