Not much promo on the album outside of a couple websites here and there.
-
That's sad but well I can say I buy a copy
-
lol just as expected...
Well its not like his life depended on it. Dude got money.
-

same here & agreed too, especially considering all the years since his previous album! Seems unbelievably low a figure though... would be curious to know how much people showed up to his concerts all over Cali to support the release? Hell, wouldn't be surprise if Japan sold more copies than the whole good ol'USofA? France & Germany too!
-
It's actually not that terrible of a number, unfortunately. Trust me, I look at sales numbers every week and considering the amount of promo and X's current position in the game and it being an independent release, it is not that bad.
I mean Machine Gun Kelly's album came out on a major, with big promo, international tour, major videos, etc etc, and it barely broke 50k.

Guess I'm getting old cause to me MGK ain't nothing but a brat compared to X! Won't even bother to download his skinny ass's shit for free, much less pay for it!

different generation... MGK appeals to the generation of fans who are 14-25 right now, X's fans are mostly 25+.
You're not supposed to like MGK, his music is not geared towards you. He's a 21 year old party/fun rapper making music for the high school and college crowd, sort of like Mac Miller, who releases the most successful independent album of the decade, selling 145,000 copies the first week.

you probably right, but if we talking "party" music from a new guy, I'll go with Schoolboy Q all the way!

Me too! I'm not a fan of MGK, I think he's a talented rapper and all that, but not my thing.

No one knew about it and he released it in Canada a week later...Buy then everyone just downloads it.
Sick album though but this is the music industry now.

LEt's hope it'll reach the 10,000 within 1 month of its release! At this rate there won't be but 1 or 1 gold or platinum records every year from now on! Fif & Em will have been among the very last ones (with Jay-Z?) to reach the multi million marks!
-
ya dude hasn't released a album since 2006, there wasn't a major single.. only X fans really know about it.. i actually havn't bought mine yet so add 1 for next weeks sales from me
-
I bought mines, dope ass album.
-
considering Nima didn't promote it one bit this isn't bad
Dubcc could have doubled them sales tho

-
Xzibit wasn't trying to sell the album, just make something for his fans. That's what's up.
-
This album deserved higher sales.

They're bringing in that "6 strikes" thing in the US pretty soon though, on all the major internet providers...
if that curbs some of the downloading, then the sales figures may pick up again...

so Nima let me ask you if snoop dogg/ lion is doing 20000k. first week is that considered good even for a mainstream realease ?

20,000 first week for snoop would be pretty disappointing, yes.

These days, a Dr. Dre beat really don't mean nothin.
Well its not like his life depended on it. Dude got money.
You sure about that? He has had money issues in the past.

2 chainz sold 333,000 copies?
fuck record sales
-
I am pretty sure those sales really doesn't affect him because he tours a lot and like someone had mention, he did it for his fans. Its about the music, the art and the coast he represent. It is a good album and I do agree I am surprise it doesn't get a lot of promotion on these blogs or anywhere else.

considering 2 chainz had the #1 record in the country and countless hits in the past year, those numbers are not THAT great... they did save sha money xl tho cause his first signing (big krit) was a fail (commercial sales wise). that being said, big krit >>>>> 2 chainz

real spit

i actually havent peeped the new x album yet, but i bet it's better than most the stuff thats been comin out. i'll peep it soon and get back on that, but 3,200 is pretty horrible for some1 of x's stature, regardless. cats paid his dues, he definitely deserved more promo, independent or not. record sales are not what they used to be. in 2001, someone of 2chaniz's stature would be at 3 million as opposed to 300,000. then again, xzibit was a platinum selling artist back then. times are gettin crazy.
-
I liked it thought it was solid but won't buy it because I've already bought better xzibit Cds in my day lol
-

i wait for that really. ;D
-
2 Chainz is Tity Boi who used to be signed for Luda's DTP - I will have to check this.
As for X - I will buy this CD as soon as I get paid. Got to support Dre's mexican homie.

damn didn't know live from the undergorund was a commercial failure... not surprised though, krit is my favorite "rookie" (well we can't really call him a rookie) but i never thought krit had big commercial appeal, his shit sounds too mature and too serious to sell... it's sad really but i'm guessing most people find his shit boring and such intelligent music doesn't really sell in this day and age. his major debut was a let down for me though, a handful of standout tracks but it doesn't have the cohesiveness of krit wuz here and 4eva N a day, too many fillers, krit definitely didn't bring his A game, especially production wise.
i don't know why 2 Chainz gets so much hate, he ain't the worst rapper out, and he definitely has some cool songs and goot beats, i didn't check his album though.
-
It could also be the amount of twitter followers since he just passed 500k as he wrote that? but it's just a guess guys.. Allthough i hope he broke the 500k in record sales!
-
it's most definitely twitter followers
