fuck this dude
And the saga continues for rapper Shyne and his string of crabby-like comments. After aiming his crosshairs at Rick Ross, 50 Cent, Drake and Barack Obama weeks ago, the rapper now has his eye on Compton lyricist Kendrick Lamar and his new album. Despite the universal acclaim that’s been attached to K. Dot’s good kid, m.A.A.d city LP, Shyne doesn’t feel the same. In fact, he’s calling it “trash.”
Taking to his Twitter last night (October 23), Po vented some of his frustration with the former XXL Freshman’s major-label debut. “Yoooo! Kendrick Lamar is talented with a lot of potential but his album is traaaaash!” This was one of many tweets bashing the album. “When did honest become hating? I expected doggy style or the chronic. I got a product that was trash,” he continued.
“I’m inspired by other people’s greatness, it makes me work harder. I looked forward to hearing an instant classik from good kid. Trash!”
This comes as the aforementioned album continues to receive praise from critics, even garnering XXL’s prestigious distinction of “XXL.” While the album is currently in stores, Shyne is also prepping his forthcoming comeback album. —XXL (@XXL)

Shyne's just been running his mouth a lot lately. Dude can't make good music so he's gotta draw attention to himself by doing shit like this. At the end of the day he's never gonna be remembered for being a dope rapper. He'll forever be known as the dude that shot up a club when he was hanging with Puffy. Meanwhile Kendrick dropped one of this most critically acclaimed rap albums of its time. Shyne will never be able to say that.

Jaeki Cho (@jaekicho) writes a beautiful review calling Kendrick’s album a “future classic…” Mr. Cho then goes into a walk-through of the details of the album with vivid clarity and diction.
Every record is both complexly arranged and sonically fitting, foregrounding Kendrick’s vivid lyricism and amazing control of cadence.
It’s an undeniably stellar major label debut from Kendrick Lamar, which will certainly hurt the self-esteem of many rappers out now while also inspiring them to reach these heights.

Yeah, but they also gave XXL to these albums as well -
The College Dropout by Kanye West
Late Registration by Kanye West
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Kanye West
So I don't know if an XXL is really a "prestigious distinction" if they hand one out to Kanye on almost every album he puts out...

Shyne wants an album that sounds like 20 years ago...about the last time he was relevant
-
I don't agree with Shyne. Hopefully he can put out a dope album soon too. His new mixtape was dope though.

it's the niggaz opinion.
lmao @ basically the whole west coast twitter bangin' on Shyne just cuz he said Kendrick album traash.
I like Game but he especially wack for going in on Shyne after all these years of shouting Free Shyne and basically dick riding for all these years. He looking super fake for that one. I guess loyalty really don't mean shit for that clown.
Prison fucked Shyne's head up and he's definitely wack now but he's speaking from a perspective of making two classic street albums. Dude was nice as fuck back in the day.

LMAO @ saying Shyne has two classic albums. If you combine both his albums then you end up getting one dope ass album. Far from classics. I'm not even going to speak on his mixtape.
You are right, everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, even to the most basic fan, this album is not trash. It's at the very least a solid album. Would I call it a classic? No.
Game wasn't really talking slick to him until Shyne responded. Then it kind of went South from there. I applaud Game, and Nipsey for coming to the defense of K. Dot. About time some of the West stick together. Game was the one who basically introduced Jay Rock and K. Dot to the world.
-
lmao at all this shit getting blown outta proportion. you just got one dude giving his opinion on twitter and you got a gaggle of people on his ass. chill out he's entitled to it, just because he doesn't have classics doesn't mean he doesn't have the right to say the album is trash. is he exaggerating ? yes he is. is it disrespectful ? probably, but he still gave k dot his props. he simply overreacted by calling the album trash because of the anticipation and the buzz around it. people just don't accept different opinions.
-
shyne is right,.. k.dot's album is trash
-
Shyne wants an album that sounds like 20 years ago...about the last time he was relevant
fuck... if that's what Shyne wants then I want the same shit...
..and lol@Shyne wanting G Funk beats

theyre fucking sheep

btw.
Is there anyone who can explain why this album is being called fresh, innovative etc.?
Have people who call it innovative ever listened to other genres than rap music but related to this music? Go listen to tons of trip hop albums since mid 90s and update your opinion. Except Kendrick's lazy voice for me this album is nothing new. What is more i find this album to be musically unsuccessful attempt at making rap/trip-hop mix.

He went against the grain and it works. Dropped the album of the year. Front to back this album is great. Where would you fit in your stereotypical, heard 1000 times West Coast beats from Fred Wreck, Battlecat, Dre, Warren G, etc.?
I'm proud a talented, new artist from the west has made it mainstream and it's good to see the west unite behind someone like Kendrick. Shame it can't be said for many members of this board.

exactly
even crooked i like wtf these niggaz trippin on

And all you people need to respect that...a brotha can't have an opinion ???
-
People are always free to have opinions but the door swings both ways. You think if when Shyne had dropped his first album if another rapper had come out publicly and called it "trash", he would have just stood back and accepted it?

The album is fresh and innovative as Kendrick is probably the first rapper in a long ass time to get a big push on a Major Label for a Commercial Release and not sacrifice any of his artistic integrity. The genius of this album isn't in the beats / sounds, it's in the story that is being told, and the message that Kendrick is pushing.
-
Yeah, having just had a chance to finally listen to the album, it's crazy that this is a major label release, put out on Aftermath, no less. On a marketing level, it seems like something a record executive would shit-can for not being commercial enough but I can't complain. I hope it pushes a million units. I'm going to have it in rotation for a bit.
-
that's the most unity I've seen from the west in years. Game, Nipsey,Jay Rock & Schoolboy Q all got at shyne.

posts like these are mind-boggling....though the lyrical content and emceeing might be well ahead of most commercial releases, the overall sound of a majority of the album is still extremely similar to commercial hip-hop of the past couple years. a lot of the MUSICAL concepts for this album is taken straight from kanye west, lil wayne, drake, and all that other shit u hear on top-40 radio. again, lightyears ahead of radio artists lyrically, but musically, aside from it being sequenced and mixed better, the overall sound on a lot of it is very sappy/radio-friendly.

agree. but we're talking about the music, right? Because this is music album. And musically this album is... well... boring, at least i find it boring. Lyrically it may be masterpiece but muiscally it's not that good.
Somehow it reminds me of this line (Evidence): For me it doesn't matter how dope you write or look / MC's without a voice should write a book.
Simply change voice with beats and you'll get my point. But on the other hand some people find Kendrick's voice annoying so who knows lol...
Well... i'm not trying to hate on this album. I just think it's not as good album as people try to convince me it is. Just my opinion.
Peace

As I said, the genius of this album isn't in the beats, its in the lyrics and the message Kendrick is pushing. I fuck with it musically as well though. Each to their own though bro
