Title: Rza OST, Vinnie Paz, Xzibit, Kendrick Lamar.. is hip-hop coming back?
Post by: TraceOneInfinite on October 25, 2012, 12:23:40 AM
I honestly haven't checked out any of these albums yet, because I don't rush through albums anymore.  I try to take my time with them now, knowing that only 2 or 3 good hip-hop albums are released every year.  Like over the past couple years, I can only think of Sticman's Workout Album, the Bad Meetz Evil EP, the Nas and Marley Distant Relatives album... those are pretty much the only dope releases I can think of over the past few years.   Pretty sad.

But there are 4 albums I will be buying soon that have the potential to make 2012 a great year in hip-hop..

Xzibit
Rza Iron Fist OST
Vinnie Paz
Kendrick Lamar

Is 2012 going to be a comeback year, or will I end up dissapointed with all 4 of these albums?

You'll probably like the Xzibit album. Not sure if you'll like Kendrick's album. Haven't heard the other two.

Slaughterhouse wasnt what we all hoped for but its still fucking good.
And you are definitely sleeping on Chino XL. If you serious about hip hop coming back then you have to check his new album out.
Raskass coming with new shit too.
 Kurupt.
If killah priest was dropping a new one then that would top it off nicely.

Think 08 was the last really weak year i can think of. Its been a pretty good start to a decade for hip hop

Dope albums for the last few years

10 had kanye, big boi, the roots, big krit, kno, curren$y, buckwild, freeway, danny brown, earl sweatshirt, shad, nas, black milk & gfk
11 had cunninlynguists, the roots, kendrick, big krit, shabazz palaces, danny brown, a$ap rocky, beastie boys, action bronson, blu &  reks
12 has kendrick, killer mike, aesop rock, el-p, nas, big krit, macklemore, o.c., brother ali, gift of gab, ab-soul, large professor, & schoolboy q

You listen to like what? 12 albums a year? No shit you arent gonna find more than a few good albums. The fact you didnt mention krits work these last few years is truely sad

Futurama was good, but I wasn't disappointed at all by either of those albums. Ill Bill just as good as ever. Maybe I'm just easier to please.
