This guy has been instrumental in making West-coast rap sound great for the longest time. Seriously, check the credits of your favourite rap CD and it's likely that this guy was involved in the mastering.
Is there any more info on the guy?

loads of info. type brian gardner mastering or bernie grundman mastering into a youtube search and there's plenty of cool videos about their operation.

Hell yeah, great post man! I agree 100%. Most of the time, I'd look at the credits and it would be "Big Bass" doing the mastering; now it's gotten to the point where, whenever I see him being credited, I just smile and think "there he is again!". It's almost like if you were putting out a westcoast album with a decent budget, he'd be the go-to dude for the mastering 9 times outta 10. Cuz has got some serious credits under his belt for sure, he's a westcoast mastering O.G.;D.

No doubt, I was just pointing out that he has been a major part of the mastering that has been done on westcoast albums since way back in the day.

Dope G-Funk production in the 90's too.
(Cave Bitch) - ''Brian-G, break it down'' - Ice Cube
Shout-out to that other cat who also used to be on the engineering credits, Donavan 'The Dirtbiker' as named by The D.O.C.

Just skimming the top of my CD pile I can see that he has mastered The Hard Way (213), Dogg Food, the new Slaughterhouse and Bad Meets Evil, Goblin (Tyler), Me Against The World, Lethal Injection, They Never Saw Me Coming (TQ), The Book Of David and I Want It All (Warren G). There's obviously a ton of others as well.
So it seems that if you're album is mixed down by DJ Quik or Dr. Dre, then mastered by either Big Bass Brian or Bernie Grundman, you're album will at the very least sound good!
