In case you missed it, The Source called their decision to name Kendrick Lamar The Sources 3rd annual Rookie Of The Year a NO BRAINER.

The Source also went on to call good kid, m.A.A.d city:
arguably one of the biggest albums of the year

Big Krit >> him. Funny how Dre cosignin can carry feeble talent to undeserved superstardom & notoriety. Reminds me of when 50 came in.

how many other people did Dre co-sign and blow up since Game? I'll wait...

Too bad the Dre co-sign couldn't help Bishop Lamont and Slim The Mobster? ::)
Krit's album was a huge disappointment.

I Don't know about that fucker Slim Da Mobster but Bishop should of blown up, he had a lot of good tracks in his catalog, and Grow up would of gotten mad support if Dre/Aftermath didn't prevent the song from radio/video treatment.

he's got a DEBUT STUDIO release before this (section .80). He can't be rookie...

that was not a major release

ok, (to me) it's like the Slaughterhouse shady debut. can't call 'em rookie, they're in the game for decades.
Kendrick is in the game like about 5 year or more?!
He's got vids from 2009.
got charted song from 2011.
rookie (to me) is somebody new in the bussines.

yes....and to the source magazine, it's someone who released their major debut that year.

it's a shame from a hiphop magazine.
it's 2012, there are a lot of mixtapes, indie albums etc.
2012 is NOT 1990...
