I think it should be about quality more than anything.. Not about EARNING the right to get played at their station..
Like why wont they play Joey Badass or any of them new dudes? people are interested in them and hot 97 could help them get even bigger.

Of course not but did anyone think DJ's dictate what the station play? That's never been their job. Bottom line is major labels have more ways to make a customer impression so that's what the people want. If nobody listened to the shit Hot97 put out over their airwaves, I guarantee their playlists would change pretty fucking quick.
