Sorry folks, but his beats are always the same. In the beginning it was kinda funny, but now....... nope, can't listen to it anymore

Yea I guess thats the drawback of having a signature sound, often it does sound real similar. But i love Cat myself, he just brings that pure west coast funk. Dude has produced so many west coast classics in his time.
Also sometimes he can just flip the script and come with something real futuristic, such as Xzibit's Loud And Clear or Lost Angels' Keep It G

I like his beats. He still down with the funky shit... ;)

Battlecat is tight... sure his beats have a signature sounds, but you can say the same about all of the top producers... battlecat is in my mind one of the best, because he has his own sound... so does dre, so does timbaland... ya know? They have signature sounds...copycat producers just dublicate sound... they pump their own shit. and thats unfuckwitable

Amen..
The dopest track he ever made was Knoc, Slip & Time Bomb's "L.A."
Other than that, they all sound almost the same..

All his stuff has clap drums, and you're right it gets real repetitive. Dre does the same thing, he always has strings that sound similar (well, a lot of the times) and Dre's got a certain type of drums he does, but I just like the sound better, so I never get tired of it. I've been tired of battlecat for a while now, but not to the point I don't like the stuff, just that it don't blow my mind.

i don't know if it's just me but sometimes i think certain Quik songs were supposed to be linked together. like you'll hear the same beat or instruments in another song he's produced.

You actually got a point there...But oh well...If it's dope, it's dope. Period. No comma...

Battlecat is a living legend. Most of y'all have probably only heard the stuff he has done for Snoop & Tha Eastsidaz! The dude has been around for over 15 years. NO-ONE should mention people like Timbaland in the same sentence as BC.
Peace.

Battlecat is about as westcoast as you can get!
I'm a big fan of his work!

Damn right, one of the only producers who still bangs out westcoast shit. People need to turn the radio off once in a while...
Peace.

LOL
Timbaland is 100x times as innovative as BC.
Ask any producer, he'll tell you..
-
I'm not feelin BC anymore either. I liked him for about a year, but then it just got too repeditive like other peeps in this thread are sayin.

How can you compare mainstream to underground?

I wouldn't agree on Tim being mainstream. Try Again & Nigga What Nigga Who are surely no mainstream beats. Come on, Tim's not 7 Aurelius or the Trackmasters.
