Post by: Okka on January 28, 2013, 04:58:20 PM
Who do you consider the better actor?

I took Al because historically he's more versatile, but coming out today I'd rather watch DeNiro than Pacino because I don't care for anything Pacino has done in a very long time.

Well Pacino is by far the better actor with a very diverse portfolio, but Deniro is one of my favorites.

I'd have said DeNiro, who I'd have thought had more diverse roles, especially in recent years.  Don't get me wrong, I still love Pacino on the big screen, but he typically ends up with roles where his character is a bit fiery and yells, which is when the more entertaining Pacino comes out.  But I couldn't imagine him doing some of DeNiro's roles, like in Meet the Parents (or any of its sequels) or Limitless.

Pacino played the Devil in The Devil's Advocate, DeNiro looks like a white G.O.D.
Pacino killed DeNiro in Heat.
Peace.

De Niro, although he is tarnishing his legacy with some of the lame ass movies hes starred in in the past 10 years.

Id say DiNiro for me.. I only saw Scarface with Pacino in really and any other films have not really had much of an impact.
Scarface only really had me as well because it was considered a 'cult classic' .. other than that, DiNiro is a brilliant actor, and even more hilarious in Meet the Fockers.

What movies y'all talkin' about? Let's talk about movies he's been since 2003, actually he didn't star in any movies in 2003 so from 2004 till now.

I loved Pacino in "scent of a women". His speech, his acting, his repressed anger. This was acting.

For De Niro though - Killer Elite sucked. The Analyze and Meet the Parents movies/sequels revived his career IMO from the bog standard "thrillers" he was always in, in the 90's. Hide and Seek afterwards was also good acting. I think the issue lies in not being apart of large blockbusters that are actually good so we see his career as stale  ??? But his career is fine.

Pacino has been in some garbage lately too (Jack & Jill) so it's really hard to judge based on current success or roles, and 2 are different actors IMO. 2 different styles so I don't know why they are always compared
