Thanks for that link.
I'll look closely to it, but the thread is 98 pages long, and I was wondering if anyone had any clue for the Game songs.

There was a track by Rappin 4-Tay, Benni Boom, J. Minixx - Black Widow that was supposedly produced by Dre. I'm wondering if thats true.
Also missing from your list:
50 Cent - In Da Hood ft. Brooklyn
213 - Game Don't Wait (Remix) ft. Xzibit
Eminem - The Warning (Mariah Carey diss)
G.A.G.E. - Move
Kam - Murder Dem Murderers
Melloe Won - There They Go ft. Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg
RBX - Freestyle ft. Big II Da Boy
Xzibit - Year 2000

Oh yeah, and I see you have Bilal - Fast Lane, but there is a remix to that song: Bilal ft. Jadakiss, Dr. Dre - Fast Lane (Remix) which has Dre rapping on it. There was also a music video for the remix with Dre and Jadakiss in the vid.

wrong...it's a co-production, same as every song on "2001"....it's simply credited differently, as dr dre got credit as the "executive producer"

Thanks guys, I appreciate your input.
I've checked the other thread, and there a few errors, so I don't know if I can trust it 100%.

Also, about Game's Leftovers Ep from the Doctor's advocate sessions, I've found this list of producers on Grooveshark :
Gutter Prod. Scott Storch
Beautiful Life Prod. Dr. Dre
Murda Prod. Dr. Dre
My Bitch Prod. DJ Khalil
Still Me Prod. Focus
Wont Stop Prod. Dr. Dre
Around The Way Prod. Dr. Dre

Do you guys think the production credits are acccurate ?

Also, what about those songs :
50 Cent - Incredible (feat. Nikki Grier)
Brandy - La La Land
Game - One Blood (Original Version)
Game - Hey Young World (feat. Dr. Dre & Nas) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8orbmcLK4Jo
Nox - I'm High (feat. Xzibit)
Ras Kass - Goldyn Child (Original Version)
Xzibit - Hurt Locker
Xzibit - Grown Man Business

Do you think Dr Dre produced them ?

An executive producer doesn't actually produce the song, he just approve it. The one's Dr. Dre didn't approve of got left in the cutting room floor, He's done that with every Project since The Chronic, he's always made sure he got the final say on what actually went on the album.

Of course in the end it's really debatable, because when you see how he works with other producers it really has always been a co-effort with some one in some way.

N.W.A was a group effort (though him and Yella were lead)
The Chronic (Daz, Warren G)
2001 (Mel-Man)

pretty much every effort their is another producer in the studio, however Dre gets credit because he's the the top producer.

lol, naah bro, Dre and Mel man were in the studio together makin that beat, same way they did all of 2001. Mel-Man came up with the melody/loop, and Dre did the rest (as always). It's just credited differently cuz it was on a soundtrack and not an Aftermath or Xzibit release. Tracks typically don't even have "executive producers", that's usually reserved for entire albums.

What are fuck are you seriously talkin about. "Year 2000" was a Mel-Man beat. Dre only mixed it.

lol, you GOTTA be retarded. yes, i do know what an executive producer is, buddy. but try to follow me......songs typically do not have EXECUTIVE PRODUCTION credits. FULL ALBUMS are usually executive produced by a certain overseer, but the soundtrack was not executive produced by Dre, it was the actual SONG, meaning Dre had a part in the production of the SONG, not the ALBUM, my boy

Yeah but since the soundtrack was put together by someone else, you don't think it's possible the song it's self  is just 1 from a bigger session were Dr. Dre was the executive producer? I mean it probably was a left over for an album or whatever.

I mean Dogg food had two Executive producers (Dr. Dre & Suge Knight). GIven the fact they are generally the ones who give final approval of the project it wouldn't amaze me if they release stuff that's sorta the same in taste to the stuff they make themselves.

Mel-Man played the instruments on "Year 2000" himself. As you can see on the booklet of "2001" there were a lot of people involved in makin' of every beat.

naah...it's the same story with khalil gettin production credits on songs that woulda been credited to dre back in the 90's. at the end of the day, it's a dre production. mel-man came up with the beat, dre produced it. to give mel-man some due, dre most likely gave him production credit and took "executive production" credit (which is atypical for a song), where as on "2001", dre took 50/50 credit (which mel-man later complained about). but obviously, he is credited with production on the actual track "year 2k".

exactly, but based on the traditional definition of producer, dre PRODUCED the track, just like with all of "2001"...of course, it was a collection of people comin up with the beat ideas, and instrumentations (mel-man, elizando, storch, etc), but dre was the final producer, and when dre puts his stamp on something, it's clear as can be...."Year 2k" has that stamp.

Publishing is somethign different if I remember correctly idk I'm drunk as fuck right now, anyways. Dr. Dre probably gets credit because he has the final say on everything. Even if some other efe makes the beat, another creates some of the back round effects, Dr. Dre approves in what order/how it's gonna appear on the final recording, hence why he get's the producers credit. Same shit with his recording lyrics, if he doesn't like a line he tells em rewrite it until it gets his approval, however he doesn't actually get credit for writing because he doesn't write in any shape, while with Music someone may take a drum beat and he'll play with it himself until he gets it to what he likes.

Producing/Exec producing is pretty murky when it comes to hip-hop and even though some stuff has been "Credit" to someone you gotta remember a lot of times these guys don't even label their samples properly.

Yeah, Dre was the executive producer. Not the actual producer of the song and he didn't even mix the song by himself.

Yeah, Dre was the executive producer. Not the actual producer of the song and he didn't even mix the song by himself.

he was the executive producer of the song, yet he wasn't a producer of the actual song? that doesnt make sense. any kinda production credit on a song is production credit LOL.......really, though, it's common sense what was goin on in those aftermath studios. it's not really that hard to figure out.

You do know the actual difference between a Executive Producer and a producer right? because after reading this post I gotta ask. because from my understanding a Executive producer doesn't actually touch the musical aspect more the business side. Also any kind of production credit isn't just a production credit, there is a reason why their is a Producer and a Executive producer credit to help differentiate the duties each one comes with.

However given how a lot of the times rappers just all go into the studio and just do their thing, unless it's stated you can't really tell who did what. I mean when I read post saying "oh yeah Dr. Dre did those drums" that's debatable.  because the only 1s who knows what's going on are the ones in the studio. and people saying "oh but it's his signature sound" a sound can be replicated, look at the G-Funk Era.

I remember this sorta thing got debated when it came to "Kush", not who got official credit but just what/How much Dr. Dre did with the track. Honestly if someones credited I say let em take it, obviously the people involved have a reason. Either way doesn't effect me.  8)

executive producer : overseer of the project, not musically per se. Suge was executive producer of every Death Row album and he barely produced actual songs (he produced some on 2G4R & Chronic 2000 I think). Daz is the executive producer of Tha Streetz Iz A Mutha but he didn't produce all of the songs, just some of them but he supervised the project I guess. Joe Marrone didn't produce any songs either.

That's why there's a clear difference in the booklets between "produced by" and "executive producers". Like on Dogg Food "Produced by Dat Nigga Daz. Executive Producers : Dr. Dre & Suge Knight".

Dre executive produced GKMC but didn't produce every song.

Not real, even the dude who posted this on Youtube said it.
Thanks to you too !

Thanks guys, I appreciate your input.
I've checked the other thread, and there a few errors, so I don't know if I can trust it 100%.

Also, about Game's Leftovers Ep from the Doctor's advocate sessions, I've found this list of producers on Grooveshark :
Gutter Prod. Scott Storch
Beautiful Life Prod. Dr. Dre
Murda Prod. Dr. Dre
My Bitch Prod. DJ Khalil
Still Me Prod. Focus
Wont Stop Prod. Dr. Dre
Around The Way Prod. Dr. Dre

Do you guys think the production credits are acccurate ?

Also, what about those songs :
50 Cent - Incredible (feat. Nikki Grier)
Brandy - La La Land
Game - One Blood (Original Version)
Game - Hey Young World (feat. Dr. Dre & Nas) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8orbmcLK4Jo
Nox - I'm High (feat. Xzibit)
Ras Kass - Goldyn Child (Original Version)
Xzibit - Hurt Locker
Xzibit - Grown Man Business

Do you think Dr Dre produced them ?

'Hurt Locker' is not produced by Dre.  I can tell that even though I don't actually know who produced it.
The original version of 'One Blood' is The Game's lyrics over the beat for Kam's 'Murder Them Murderers', but I'm not sure if this is just fan-made.
And 'Hey Young World' exists in beat form and is most likely produced by Dre - there is a video of him previewing it in the recording studio.
Also, I don't think that 'Don't Need Your Love' was produced by Dre - I thought Havoc from Mobb Deep produced that?

What I think is missing from your list:

Eminem - My Darling (Relapse leftover);
The Game - Make Up Sex;
Bishop Lamont - You Better Back, Back; and
Bishop Lamont - Freak Freak Y-all (Both from his Mecha-God-Spilla mixtape).

no doubt, but i already explained that....executive producer credits are typically for full albums. when an individual song has an executive producer (extremely rare), u know that has something to do with the production of the actual song, especially when dr. dre is involved, and dre's methods of producing should be evident by now.

as for dre's signature sound, yes, many have attempted to replicate it. but you can really tell when dre was involved and when he wasn't, and "year 2k" clearly has dre involvement on the musical side.

yea, but i keep repeating the same thing...executive production credits are usually for full albums/projects. when an individual song gets such credit, then the person named was clearly involved in the production of the song, not arranging/overseeing the album, as with your average executive production credit.

Also, I don't think that 'Don't Need Your Love' was produced by Dre - I thought Havoc from Mobb Deep produced that?

Somethin' happened to the original instrumental and Dre had to remake the beat.

Are you sure about My Darling ? On wikipedia, it says Eminem produced it himself.

The Game - Phantom (feat. Robin Thicke)

never remember this track being confirmed as a DRE beat. granted it kinda sounds like it, but it's hella rough.

There wasn't credits for the bonus CD on "8 Mile". So we won't know for sure if this was a Dre or a Mel-Man beat.
