Nas and Prodigy always had issues with each other since day one, but i bet they still better friends than Nas and Snoop are and P still said that shit about Nas.

Snoop was jealous of all the shine Pac was getting once he signed on Death Row. They barely hung out with each other, Pac was always with Suge, Danny Boy & Tha Outlawz and Snoop was with the Dogg Pound (as Danny Boy put it, they were the Smith's and the Jones'). they did have mutual respect for each other, but they weren't tight like that.

Considerin' Pac was bigger than Snoop at the time it might be true. You never know though. There's like a million different stories about Death Row Records, about the songs and confrontations and meetings etc. From the artists to the fuckin engineers and people who were around or claim that they were around. Who was the dude that used to get everybody chicken back in "The Chronic" days? Didn't he talk some shit too? Everybody is sayin' different things, we'll never know for sure. That's for sure.

There's also footage of Pac and Dre hanging out, but obviously they weren't too fond of each other after Dre left Death Row. So their actions in front of the camera don't always tell 100% of the story. Remember that Pac and Snoop were together being interviewed after the MTV VMAs, and then when they went back to LA, there was a little bit of animosity between them for what was said on the radio.
In XXL's issue where they talked about the Making of the Makaveli album, a lot of the people interviewed said that Snoop was jealous. I think one of the producers said that they used to post up in one of the studios that Snoop and a few other Death Row artists would call the "wack room" (because they felt it was only wack shit coming out of there) and more or less avoid. But then supposedly, when Pac decided to put together what became the Makaveli album and he took those producers who Snoop brushed aside, they ended up making some pretty bomb beats. And Snoop, probably being around and hearing what was coming out, started complaining to Suge about how Pac was monopolizing all of the in-house producers when in fact Snoop more or less ignored them before.

Yup. It wasn't too different than when Pac and Snoop were interviewed at the VMAs. Snoop didn't look too happy except the one line where Pac said, "We are businessmen, we are not animals." Everything else had Snoop looking like he wasn't with it. So there was already some strong difference of opinion.

I only brought it up because you pointed out the Dre/Pac footage showing Pac obviously not being excited about being alongside Dre (as a response to you saying that Pac and Snoop were cool because they had done behind-the-scenes stuff and interviews together). The same thing happened with Snoop and Pac in this one -- I didn't mean to say that it was proof that Snoop was jealous, just that they also had video footage together where they weren't all buddy-buddy.
It's just ironic though. Obviously people grow up and mature, but it's not like Dre wasn't turning his beef with Eazy into a Death Row thing that eventually got Snoop, Daz and Kurupt all going at Eazy and Ruthless. It didn't seem like a problem to Snoop for Dre to pull him into recording diss songs toward Eazy, who never did anything to Snoop. Yet he was upset about Pac bringing in Death Row into his beef with Biggie, where the labels were already going at each other before Pac and Biggie, yet Snoop and them got shot at in New York, but that apparently wasn't a problem for him.
