I always loved this beat, and I'm under the impression that Daz sampled (or had the basic chords replayed) Jamiroquai's Music of the mind, does anybody else see the resemblance or am I seriously trippin' ? I never owned a copy of Gridlock'd, does it mention an interpolation or sample ? I'm guessing they didn't cause Daz and Death Row often did not credit samples & interpolations.

Jamiroquai are legends. So many hits you can't go wrong with them. Virtual Insanity is one of my all time favs.

No doubt. Liked em more before they turned pop tho

agreed, but Virtual Insanity is pure jazzy stuff though. and even later on in their careers they have some funky ish (Little L)

Yeah Little L is a standout of their later hits for me.
One band I was with since day 1. Shame they progressively lost their magic IMO

i liked some of their newer stuff aswell..."white knuckle ride" is dope, even if it might be a little pop-influenced...
but i agree that their earlier stuff is doper
