up until id say 98' his beats started to sound average but from 92' to 97' he was droppin nothing but heat for the whole bay area! like he was the opposite of Ant Banks across the bay. Banks with the super smooth shit and black C with nothin but goon shit!
I always felt he had his own signature sound with those claps that alot of westcoast beats still use(battlecat for example)
What are your thoughts on Black C as a producer? you think e's just another bay area artist or a nigga that had real talent.
these are some of my fav tracks produced by black c. check'em out ya might be suprised lol

He also produced " you can't hang " and " no love ". He had skill on the boards for sure . T Lowe's track was dope as fuck .That classic sound in the golden era was something he had a knack for..
-
no doubt, black c got slaps
-
ive liked a gang of there joints through the years but never followed them close enough to know who produced for em...did he do bammer weed? thats a simple beat but real dope for its time.
-
naah that entire album was produced by dj switch
-
then fuck black c.
no just kidding did c produce bounce to this or that song they later had with mystykal?

His best beat was track number 1 on Mr Sandman's album . " it's the nigga that u don't wanna see ".. Pure funk . Sandman was weak tho ..beat was too good for him .

Black C's a legend 8)
naah that entire album was produced by dj switch
nah DJ Switch did the scratches, Black C produced the whole thing except for G's by the 1,2,3 produced by T.C. (Frisco's dopest producer)
Bammer Weed was way ahead of its time.
Bounce To This was sick as fuck too with Sway at the beginning in the video, but I think it was produced by Cellski, gotta check my copy. come to think of it Frisco had sick rappers/producers
-
Yea u right I always thought it was black c just read the credits wrong
-
Well Bammer Weed is an undeniable classic the fact people even here didn't know he produced it can only mean one thing... underrated like a motherfucker.

i always assumed he produced it until i read the credits wrong...but no doubt, he's not recognized for his production as much as he should be.

black c was originally trying to be a producer and not even rap. i grew up listening to rbl, i love that shit but at the same time he cant really go outside of his sound at all
-
someone shoot me the sample for bammer weed im about to remix that shit.

that's the problem with most frisco producers, it's a blessing and a curse. matter of fact it's the problem with most of the gangsta bay area scene. a lot of dope but one dimensional shit. one producer I give props to for always evolving and coming with dope productions throughout the years is Sean-T, that dude is a beast if you check his resume and listen to his catalog he always tried to adapt and came with musical shit.

it's a Marvin Gaye song that was also sampled by Daz for the OG version of Keep It Gangsta.

goddamn dog ive head that song a hundred times in my lifeand never realized that sample came from there...have a prop.
cube also used it on steady mobbin
-
i think his style changed somewhat on An eye for an eye IMO. doesnt sound like the rest. more of a modern bay area ant banks style lol
-
I wish Black C had more national recognition ." Still Ruthless " proved that he has longevity .
-
by the way anybody remembers the title of the original version of Keep It <gangsta ? It samples the Marvin Gaye song and has no chorus. can't find it, I used to have it on a compilation but I lost it.
-
amen. black c my fav rap producer other then quiksta (gman stan/sean t up there too). love all the tapes he produced during that era. i think noh's album was his production at its best. he had his own style and damn that dude could come up with some dope ass synth riffs and basslines.
noh mafia nuttin but love 4 mr cee (resused for the herm intro on eye for an eye)

i dont think he really changed his style on an eye for an eye. he only produced two tracks and they sound like his older shit except maybe a little more clean. they werent the standouts on the album though imo. individual and 1 time for the homies are two of my fav beats ever. eye for an eye in general is underrated as fuck.
