the album undeservedly took no attention, there are some gr8 and hilarious topics in the lyrics you will never hear in the g-funk

Listened through this.

"Dirty Air" was nice, although more like some 80's pop fusion than g-funk.

There was a bunch of songs I didn't like on it too.

i ordered my copy over a month ago, still hasn't received it yet. XL's music has taken a new direction as of lately, more funk and less g-funk, he doesn't rap as much. it's good to see artist evolving and not getting stuck using the same old formula and becoming caricature of their former selves.

Where did you order your copy? On crowncityent bandcamp or thru cdbaby.com? I ordered mine on cdbaby.com on 11th May, on 12th May they shipped it to me and provided the tracking nr. and on 1st June I was bumping this CD in my sound system. And I live in Eastern Europe so it usually does take some time for packages (that were send from the US) to reach my place.

Face it, g-funk is much more wider than you might think. Here's official XL Middleton's opinion about this release:

Quote
I'd say, the album is a reflection of the musical taste of 4 different artists, and as such it was natural that it show a variety of styles. So you've got your "underground" hip hop joints like "Without Us" or "Get Wasted," you've got your more "mainstream" tracks like "Ya Love It," but overall the majority of the album is funk/g-funk - "Balcony," "If," "Funemployment," "Brake Lights In The Diamond Lane," among others! I did most of the production on the album so of course most of it is gonna have the sound you've come to expect from me. But to say it's not a g-funk album is like saying that a record like Tha Eastsidaz "Duces N Trays" isn't g-funk just because it has production from Hi-Tek & Alchemist...

Then get it from cdbaby.com while still a few copies left: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/slackerpad (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/slackerpad)
They pack the CDs very well (in carton boxes) and ship fast. I bought my copy from them too and it arrived a couple of weeks back.
