Actually, that says 6'10" and he was 18 when drafted. Men usually grow one or two more inches from 18 to 21, so Howard has to be either 6'11' or 7' right now. Bynum at 7'2" doesn't surprise me.

teams in college and high school always add height and weight to players to make the opponents more fearful but i didn't think they fudged with the numbers in the pros

I heard with Jordan he was about 6'3" legit in college, but they listed him at 6'5". Of course that's all rumor. But by the time he got to the Bulls he was a legit 6'6", and he was shown to be taller than Barkley who was a legit 6'4" to 6'5". So growth still happens.

It's amazing how far player's actual heights differ from what they're listed at.

I'll say this, if they play 10 times 1 on 1, I think Kobe wins 3-4 times. Kobe's too good for MJ to beat every single game, and one game Kobe might explode. But for the most part, MJ's defense was better and he'd win the majority of the games. It's the biggest what if in basketball, Kobe vs. MJ in their primes. It's like Ali vs. Tyson, Joe Montana's 49ers O vs. the Steel Curtain in the 4th quarter. It's something people debate in barbershops. But in a series, Jordan would win the series.

Like I said, it's an awesome achievement to have put up those kinds of numbers that game. But that one game (especially against the fucking Raptors) doesn't dictate him being a better scorer. But if you want to go by numbers... that season was Kobe's peak in terms of ppg at 35.4, but if you want to talk about being a better scorer, MJ's peak average scoring hit 37.1 ppg fairly early in his career (while his playoffs ppg that year was also at its peak at 43.7). Additionally, he averaged 30 ppg throughout the season eight times, while Kobe did it a total of three seasons so far. And then MJ has the better career average ppg too. His playoffs numbers are a lot better too.
So yeah... not too much to support your theory.
