some people don't want him in because it takes a spot away from someone who's been playing all year but at the same time the kid is a great story and is slugging like crazy this year
i say put him in as a reserve

Na.
Cargo, Braun, Bruce, Cuddyer, Brown.
I haven't been keeping up to date with the fan voting, but I'd expect Harper to make the team too.

Isn't Harper injured? Anyways fuck Puig, he's not shit. As a jaded Mariners fan I refuse to acknowledge any prospects that actually succeed as I'm in the midst of the Montero, Ackley, Smoak conundrum.

By CarGo I hope you mean Carlos Gomez because I'd rather see him over Puig. And I don't see Cuddyer getting in, this is all a popularity contest after all.

how can you be an allstar if youve barely played all year?
if he truly deserves it then he'll be good next yr and actually earn the spot ;)

What do you mean? Jeter's going to get in and he hasn't played a game all season.
This All Star Games fan voting is just one big popularity contest. Every year there's going to be a deserving snub and a guy who made it onto the squad because the masses saw him on Sportscenter once and think he's good.
They're going to find some gimmicky way to get Puig onto the ASG roster, I guarantee it.
Oh and Howie Kendrick's going to be a huge snub. He has no chance against Cano and Pedroira even though Kendrick's 2013 has been a lot better.

Didn't he just have the best first month of anyone in history? Why not?

the best was probably Shane Spencer of the '98 Yankees
-
i looked it up
puig in 27 games: .443/.473/.745 with 8 homers and 21 runs in 126 at-bats
spencer in 27 games: .373/.411/.910 with 10 homers and 18 runs in 67 at-bats
puig hits for better average but look at how spencer had 10 homers with half as many at-bats

because hes played 1 month. think about how insignificant that is in history. whats next, 2 great weeks and hes in the mvp discussion? espn has corrupted folks minds i swear (not necessarily you just making the point)
pablebon just said the same thing. i believe he called this convo "a joke" and i agree w him

I'm not firmly saying he should, just that he's the hottest player in the game on an amazing pace, if the coaches want him in there (which I doubt they will) who gives a shit? I get how vets would take offense to it I'm just speaking as a fan.

i feel you, but i think it cheapens the game. if he really is that good he'll be there next yr.

Puig is now one of the final votes for the last NL All Star Game roster spot. Which means that Puig's pretty much going to the All Star Game.
-
Knew the fans would nail Bryce.
-
LOL I anticipate the mass anger that will arise when he makes the team

Who are the other four nominees? He should blow them out of the water in fan voting.

Freddie Freeman, Ian Desmond, Adrian Gonzalez and Hunter Pence.
Even though Puig getting in is a given, I wouldn't be surprised if the final result doesn't look like a landslide. Giants fans are persistent so they'll definitely push to get Pence in and so a Dodger doesn't.
Plus on various other places on the net I've seen a lot of people saying they voted for Freeman and not Puig. And personally I voted for Pence, although I could care less who makes it onto the NL squad as opposed to if Robertson gets in on the AL team.

Freddie Freeman currently has more votes than Puig...
