Roscoe's Flipper was one of Quik's dopest beats.

He's a producer... he should be lacing these other artists with great material. That's how it is done.

Exactly. Most producers the caliber of Quik are always looking to either perfect or improve on the last beat they made. Always finding ways to get better or but the best product out there.

Do you mean Roscoe's song "Flip Flop"? Is that a DJ Quik beat? Or are you talking about the song "Get Flipped?"

What a stupid thread. Its the exact opposite?

Roscoe's Flipper was one of Quik's dopest beats.

Do you mean Roscoe's song "Flip Flop"? Is that a DJ Quik beat? Or are you talking about the song "Get Flipped?"

Either one im glad Quik stayed out of it.

IMO it should have been the opposite of the OP's opinion. Quik should have given other artists more of the dope beats he used for himself or for the people in his camp. I think if he played the rapper role a little less and focused more on producing for other people outside of his camp he'd have had a more successful career. Not that he wasn't successful, but a producer with his talent definitely could have been bigger.

Flip Flop is produced by Fingazz

My bad I meant Get Flipped.

Gotta say that I think "Get Flipped" is a pretty mediocre Quik beat, way simpler and more boring than the tracks he raps over.

In general, I'd say Quik saves the best beats for himself, but he did give KK his greatest beat when he let him rap over So Compton, and he gave James DeBarge/Won-G one of his best beats with The Divorce Song.

Quik was smart for getting on Let's Get Down, that's also one of his best.

How do they "get away" if it was his decision to sell those beats to those artists?

Anyway, "That's The Way It's Goin Down" is another great beat he's done for another artist.

I don't know man I wouldn't say it's boring, it is just sparse which fits Roscoe's flow perfect. Plus you may gotta hear it in a truck with 15s in the back to appreciate it like I do. But in my opinion to say So Compton is Quik's greatest is a stretch but that's the beauty of art, one person will love something the next person wouldn't love so much.
