As promised, Joey Bada$$ lets loose his Summer Knights mixtape, the folow-up to last year’s debut effort, 1999. The 17-track offering features production from Alchemist, Lee Bannon, Pro Era’s Kirk Knight, Chuck Strangers, and DJ Premier on the album’s bonus joint, “Unorthodox.

I'm 5 songs in and all I can say so far is that that kid is very promising
-
dope 8)

Oh this is gonna be wild.
-
Kid is nice with it, but his flow/style gradually becomes exhausting/repetitive to listen to, hope he changes up his delivery somewhat on this joint..
-
gonna burn a few and check this out 8)

I guess I'll be the first to say that '1999' was much better after first listen IMO....dont get me wrong, this joint is cool too, but i was really feeling 1999 alot, its still in rotation actually. i'm not really feelin his new, more aggressive, style as much.

yeah i agree. His beats are usually very dope, but his flow gets a bit boring.
-
his best project to date... I agree with the whole flow thing too though cuz that's something me and a homie talked about bumping 1999 awhile back

Yeah and that's why i like the Pro Era mixtape. No one really stands out but i think Capital Steez, Dyemond Lewis and Dessy Hinds are nicer than Joey.

had this on repeat the last couple days
dope
beats are solid, his flow is good imo, and his style while reminiscent of a 90s rapper doesnt feel "stolen" to me
